UPDATE: American Woman Arrested In Plot To Murder Cartoonist

CNN is reporting that an American woman, who calls herself “Jihad Jane” has been arrested in the plot to murder Lars Vilks. Two days ago, Irish police had arrested 7 people in what they say is a plot to murder the cartoonist who depicted the Prophet Muhammad with the body of a dog.

Federal officials have indicted Colleen Larose, a 46 year old Pennsylvania woman, as providing material support to terrorists and conspiracy to commit murder in a foreign country.  Rose was arrested five months ago, but authorities kept it under wraps until the other alleged conspirators were in custody.

Vilks’ cartoon was published in Nerikes Allehanda about a year and a half after the notorious Danish newspaper cartoons that sparked deadly riots around the globe.

Islamic militants reportedly put a bounty of $100,000 on his head with an added $50,000 bonus if he was “slaughtered like a lamb”. Vilks has been under police protection in Sweden ever since.
