Apple Store Crashes Under Weight of iPad Preorders?

Apple started taking pre-orders this morning for their eagerly-awaited iPad and their online store went offline almost immediately. A number of blogs suggested that it was the mad rush of pre-orders that brought the site down.

The store is back online now with a variety of iPad devices at prices ranging from $499 for 16-GB Wi-Fi capable iPad to $829 for a 64-GB 3G and Wi-Fi capable iPad.

Apple is currently limiting two iPads per customer.
