Greetings Comicon!

As some may have noticed I have been absent from the comic boards recently, this was not of my choosing. I sincerely enjoy participating in comics culture as I share the love of funnybooks many have here. I like comics so much that I have been developing my own comic book and that is what I would like to talk about here. Join the Conspiracy #1 is the first of what I would like to be many comics that I will create. Apparently I have done something entirely unique. I say apparently because when I initially set out on this project I threw all preconceived notions aside and just decided to see what the result would be. That result is nearly apparent.

Any form of creativity is not only enhanced by discussion of it, it practically requires it. The internet provides us with a readily available, fairly painless way to discuss nearly anything, including creative projects. That is why I enjoy participating here and on the other comic boards. I also use that same opportunity to promote Join the Conspiracy. As of now I have the complete background story and character cast entirely developed. With that and some of the website technicalities out of the way I am now actually building the comics. As it turns out the final result of my project is a unique combination of electronic and print comic formats.

Of course I am excited about JTC and I think it is great etc. etc. but I need the critical comic fan support for this. That is what I am appealing for now. I have been keeping a lot of the 'secrets' secret because one of the things I wanted to do was make something for the fans to figure out. By all means in the coming months don't hesitate to take a shot, that is one of this job's hazards but hey if you like it also don't hesitate to let me know that either. C'mon I'm a big boy, I can take it. As I stated above creativity requires further inquiry and discussion and Alt.3 is no different. So I look forward to returning to participation here in 2004 with new comics for all.

Have a great New Year,
Mark

Thanks Steve!

Part of the plan is to return to the weekly webcomic format. Page 1 of that week's Alt.3 CHANNEL will be posted right here with a link to the rest of the short. Each of the of the other channels (on alternative3.com) will feature new content all tied-in with the monthly print version. BUT to get the whole story one must READ THE PRINT COMIC!

I'm truly interested in getting any feedback that I can here once I get those comics underway and of course goofing around in the Gutters and whatever...

Lest we forget 2004 is the year of Acid Keg too, so Tap the Keg!

OK - see you next year

Clammy,
I've moved your nonsense threads down into the GUTTERS. If you want to go nuts that's the place. Up here you have to act reasonably or get tossed.

What Join the Conspiracy has most importantly is a story and that is what I see the fans asking for the most these days. Each JTC is a complete story in and of itself every month so there will not be any of those catches where you have to buy the book next month to find out what happened.

I would like to eventually publish the Origin of Alt.3 which will be a graphic novel done in the spirit of Watchmen. I want that to be a special story so I will be putting that off until later so I can do it exactly the way I want to. In the meantime JTC should be in every fan's monthly reading pile!

Historically I've found MM to be a terribly annoying person to have a discussion with here ... but I think he should keep on plugging his book nonetheless. He has passion and enthusiasm, is excited about his (long, long overdue) project, and seems to enjoy talking about it. God bless ‘em for it. It’s strange that he’s plugged something for so damn long with nothing actually to show, sure, but hey, so what? It's kept him enthused about the comics he loves. I wish him the best and hope he has a lot of fun doing it.

So, anyway, yeah, that means go away, clam.

And Join The Conspiracy.
