Not,
Quote:
Your overly broad generalizations suggest that you see those you call "the fundamentalists" (meaning, I would guess, anybody who takes God and the Bible seriously) not as human beings but rather as a malign, faceless group, rather the way many people have traditionally seen "the Jews," "the Negroes," "the Muslims," etc.
1. There are plenty who take God and the Bible seriously who aren't fundamentalists. 2. I'm not sure what generalization you're talking about, but I don't see fundamentalists in the same way that Arkansas law sees homosexuals, rest assured.

And I'm from a long line of Southern Baptists. Only known a few librarians, though, but I don't see the relevance.

D,

I wasn't questioning your facts about the Lutheran Church
So, you usually call historical facts "inflammatory crap"? (On second thought, you probably do.)

Quote:
Because you keep finding lame excuses to spout your unwanted opinions on religion on this thread. I wouldn't have said anything if you hadn't brought it up first. Repeatedly, to the point of being nauseating.
I didn't bring it up, you and others did. Why lie when you're obviously wrong?

Save it for the Politics forum. Nobody, except maybe Shoegaze, wants to hear the crap you spew about evangelical Christians on a regular basis.

Have you forgotten already the tangent about what you meant exactly by the phrase "faith-based initiative"?

Your debate with Gene was full of Reece-isms about those darn fundamentalists. Go back and look at your old posts, dude.

That's all I'm going to say on this matter. If you want to use what I said as an excuse for another one of your many offensive rants about denominational protestants, do it somewhere else.

When the Christofascist regime begins, you will be an oar slave on James Dobson's merchant galley taking him on trips around the Spanish Main to collect his secret hoardes of gold and silver. Who will be laughing then, smart guy?

It must be just about bed time where you are, old timer. How do you keep the aluminum foil on your head while you're sleeping?

Like I noted I went off to see some great Martial Arts Films this weekend and this bit of text was in the program about LEGENDARY WEAPONS OF CHINA / SHIBA BAN WUYI

"Director Lau Kar-leung’s exhilarating exposition on Chinese martial arts has been hailed as the ultimate film on the subject, and it’s easy to see why. It argues for realistic kung fu (skilled effort) over fakery and spectacle. A compendium of 18 classic weaponry and combat styles, the film also reiterates a favorite theme of the martial arts cinema — the training of a disciple by a master, though it shifts the usual focus on the pupil to the teacher and his ethical responsibilities. "

Here we have an example about an aesthetic question within group of filmmakers working in the same production company's various Martial Arts films contending about what is the "best" approach for the genre. Is there a right or wrong here I don't so but thanks to a debate about it we have an effort to make a case for realism and what film can do best.

In fact the film features a sequence in which characters "stage a fight" involving a fake mystic master of kung-fu using "tricks" to fool an audience and sets it up for laughs. While opposed to that is the finale of the film which shoots the action involving minimum cuts and "tricks" in a veritable display of human physical feats that are incredible and real.

Your very existence offends me, Reece. Begone with ye to the politics forum, Chuck O' Bedlam. That asylum is currently short one lunatic.
