I posted a li'l announcement about the Jam having reached the midpoint on the Annoucement section here and over at Sequential Tart's board.

Now that we are halfway to the finish, is it time to start considering a new Jam?

Not sure, it certainly has taken us a lot less time to get here than we originally thought. I do think that we should continue organizing jams. I think we should also try putting together other types of jams; like the idea that was mentioned earlier about an "all writers jam," or doing a jam where everyone does only one panel and we continue the story by passing it around and letting anyone who wants to do a panel into the jam(not just a small list of contributors). That way we can have people do more than one panel if they want and we can have more people participate.

These are just a couple of suggestions, but it's nothing we have to decide right this moment. Let me know what you think.

I think those are both great ideas. A writers Jam where we match up artists with writers would be very intersting. It could really work as two different jams. The writers Jam would take place first with each writer adding their page built upon the previous writer - or perhaps give them more than one page to help develop something?

Then the artist Jam would follow based upon the script that was produced from the writer Jam.

The one panel per creator would be cool too - as long as a whole bunch of people signed up.

Oh geez Chris and Mike, I'm a moron. Thanks for pointing that one out to me. I'll fix it shortly.

Hey, I think this is going great! I dont' think we should start thinking about another one too soon really... although the writer's thing could be promoted and set up concurrently with this one. Maybe we should get the writers lined up, each writes a page or a section of 2 or 3 pages, and then once the script is done, we get a pool of artists and randomly hand out pages to them?

Yeah - I think we could start setting up the Writers Jam now. Gives us the liberty of giving the writers a couple of months to sign up, if we so choose.

The question is: How many pages should the writers be assigned? 2 or 3? If we get 16 writers signed up - it would mean either 32 or 48 pages would be available to be assigned to the artists.

48 pages sounds like it would take a long time, but since the script will be done by the time the Artist Jam starts - all the artists can start on their pages at the same time.

So, I'm thinking 3 pages might work. Then again if we get 40 writers signed up, we're screwed!

Also, should we match the number of artists to the number of writers? So each artist works exclusively on the pages written by their assigned writer? That's what I'm thinking. We'll call it the "Writer/Artist Tag Team Comic Jam of Doom!"

Speaking of future jams, after seeing how good this one is going, I'm considering starting one up sometime in the next few months to see if I can get more 3D artists to start doing comics (too many people making "realistic" computer-generated, fancy reflective wine glasses for my liking, and not enough doing comics).

I'm not sure exactly how it'll all work at the moment, but I'll probably build a couple of characters and let everyone in the jam use those to put together a story.

Just got the ol' sneak peek at Jeremy Johnson's page 9 - and it rocks! It's another high quality page for the jam - yeah!

Up next? Some guy named Jeff Zugale.

Oh my god, you mean I have to put my pixels where my mouth is??? Yikes!

I haven't had a chance to see page 9 yet but I'm about to do the file work on it and put it up. Then I'll be off to the races on my page.
