Okay, you're stoopid.
The message baords were upgraded recently so some threads were lost. The address for the jam site is www.starshipwright.com/comicjam/ - but I just tried it and got a 404 error. Could be my connection though, it seems kinda flakey today.

Actually, that's a darn good point. You would think that it would be completely obviuos that the story didn't stop just because there was an ad on the next page but at one point publishers used that text to teach new readers how to turn a page! Another generation down the road "next" icons will probably look just as silly, but for now I think they're necessary.

Hey - maybe we should put ads in between some of the pages of the Jam! Or maybe for the next Jam, we'll just do all parody ads. Could be fun!

AWWW MAN!! You're right, John! But... that's because the real address is:

www.starshipwright.com/comicsjam/

Thats "COMICSJAM" not "COMICJAM."

Ain't ya frankly embarassed?

Shirley, you jest . . .

Considering I cut and pasted it out of your original post on the old message board - no.

Then again, since I hadn't bookmarked it yet - maybe I should be . . .

The question of navigation through an online comic is actually rather trivial. I myself like to use non-conformist methods whenever possible(just to mix things up), but I also have to state that if you truly want to make it something that is easy for everybody to navigate through you should add some small secondary navigation at the bottom of the page even if you have already set up something more unconventional.

Make the links visible, yet also subtle. Some people don't know enough to move the cursor over an image to see if it's a link. So you might be better off putting a small word link or instructional text at the bottom of the page, just in case.

McCloud's online comics have used several interesting techniques for navigation. Many of them, however, might be overlooked by someone like my dad(who is part of the baby boom generation and about as computer savvy as an avacato). If the links are to subtle, the person will be more likely to get frustrated and leave the page rather than to take the time to look for it.

It has been about two weeks, should we email Juan and check on his progress or go directly to the next contributor to get things rolling?

Maybe two weeks isn't long enough to do a full page with color(I think that's what Juan was doing). Perhaps for the interest of time we should only work in black and white.

I contacted Juan on Friday. He's knows he has to get a page to me by the end of the day today or we'll move on to the next contributor in line.

WE HAVE PAGE ONE!

I just sent a copy to Jeff. It came in last night while I was in the ER for the second time in three days. Kidney stones suck. Didn't get home 'til 4am this morning, shot full of Demoral and feeling like I'd been chewed up and spat out. Seeing Juan's page in my Inbox has lifted my spirits though. It's a cool looking page too.
