Just got it in the mail Saturday. So I haven't finished the book, but my first impressions are very good. I have to admit I've only been able to read a few paragraphs here and there before getting distracted by other things, but the art and what I have read so far, have really been fantastic! It really gets into the nuts & bolts, of page layout, design, composition, technique, story-telling. Anyone else get it?

Knew that it was coming out but haven't seen it yet. I'll have to try and track it down.

Just noticed the TwoMorrows ad in CBG. Might have to keep an eye out for the Captain Action book too.

Oh, I'll get it just to support Durwin.

Durwin has obviously never hugged you.

Seriously, though, I liked the book a lot. I've taken several classes from Durwin, so some of the book covered the same ground, and the writing reminded me of his class syllabi, but the in-depth looks into each artist's technique was well worth the bucks I put down on it. Plus, I get thanked in the back.

Durwin was one of my professors at the Savannah College of Art & Design. He's a great guy deserving of support. I plan to get the book at the Small Press Expo.

My favorite Durwin memory:
For Durwin's class on Conceptional Design I built a 1:1 scale model of a jetpack which I later lent to Durwin for a model session since he had gotten a Rocketeer helmet. After i handed it to him, he had to wear the thing to his next class.

Hey, Jerry, if you're gonna be at SPX, swing by the SLG table and say hi.

This is Les, by the way.
