Unfortunately, due to rights issues, the release date of this book has been postponed until further notice. We will update Amazon and other retailers with the new publication date as soon as possible and apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience. In response to your second enquiry, we have tentative plans to reprint the entire Loomis series, however this depends on the fate of the aforementioned rights. Hope this answers your questions.
The rights holders have been notorious with keeping this book from seeing print. a few publishers have tried over the years and have not been able to get the rights. I think Walt Foster books have been able to use excerpts of figure drawing for all it's worth, but they cotnain no useful information included in the original book.
I did a little digging and it's said the Loomis family hasn't been intrested in promoting his legacy as an artist.
IMO, the family seems to want to erase Loomis legacy as an artist. With the exception of a handful of paintings which loomis gave to a neighbor the family holds most of his paintings. They refuse to lend them for exhibits or to grant rights to have his educational books reprinted.
Don't expect to see this book reprinted.
