I've only posted a few toons there once in awhile, since WCN started in 2005, but not on a weekly basis. So this month I thought I should finally cut those Comical National boys a weekly break, and show 'em how it's done:

Mr. Ed Weirdo now WEEKLY at Web Comics Nation !!!

I did the first one on August 1, and debuted it that same day on TCJ, since it's about them, after all. That one will then appear at WCN on the following Sunday (Aug.5), starting off my run there. (Although I'll officially only be updating it sporadically, I'm still gonna shoot for a weekly Sunday funnies schedule, anyway.)

And the party continues!

eek cool :p

For a second I was so proud of you for finally drawing something, and not just tossing around the four or five strips on your website and pretending they make you a real cartoonist.

Then I clicked the link.

Oh, Dogfucking Challenge Pussy. FACE YOUR DELUSIONS!

We can see how Web cartoonist James A Bogner deals with the competition.

Abuse and insults.

Hey, Jim? Forget the Gutters, forget the Internet.

That's not how you do it in the Real World.

Your above post goes into your permanent file. not MY permanent file-- the Web's permanent file; from now on, you'll be known webwide as 'the so-so cartoonist who tries to get ahead by shitting on other cartoonists'.

Danny Hellman, okay, he can do it because he has decades' worth of cred; if Hellman rips your work up, you may not like it, but you have to grin and bear it. (I fucking know.)

But you? James A Bogner? Who the Hell are you?

What lifts your online strip so vast a distance above Ed's?

Do you think it's ethical to promote your strip by dissing other strips, as you do?

James, the above are sincere questions.
(The most dangerous ones always are, eh.)

How about some sincere answers?

That's not true. That's the way I deal with people who annoy me. You really should read my posts more thoroughly.

I'm not trying to "get ahead". As always, I'm fucking with people who annoy me. Again, READ the posts, don't ASSUME.

That's a common misconception held by stupid people.

You don't have to even be an artist to criticize artists, you just have to have an opinion.

I just told you. READ THE POST.

Nobody said anything about that except you. It's not necessary for reasons I just gave.

I don't do that. Now you're just kidding me!

James, the above are sincere questions.
Really? Did someone other than you ask them? I guess I missed that.

Surely you already know my catch-all answer to any questions you ask me. Why don't you say it just to show me you know?

Ha! Ha! You really need to relax, CiCi and Little Baby Geesus! At WCN they make you plug in a couple toons just to get their template started.

Don't worry, you'll be seeing far more than just the portfolio sample stuff from my regular websites. I've got plenty of backlog classics plus new goodies. Some of those gags I've already dropped in as text only (just for fun), on posts both here and at TCJ, so as you can easily see there's NEVER any shortage of material!

As to dumping on other toon dudes, unless it's an extreme case, that's not my style, man. Like I've said often before, my art's been published since the '70s (before Mr. Hellman and more than a few others, I believe), so I've got nothing to prove at this late stage of the game.

See ya'll on WCN!
