That's a great big pile of mind-reading and precognition.

No way, jwyatt. Your hate-filled agenda won't fly here! John Byrne will be allowed to tell all teh great stories he has cooped up inside him any day now. Just you wait and see!

Pally thinks that Byrne is choosing to be on low profile books, but his tenure on these books occured after being booted off of Action comics.

He states that the poor sales weren't due to poor writing on Byrne's part, citing instead a lack of interest in the characters that Byrne was interested in writing. This, of course, is belied by the fact that sales start out strong on these books but then plummet at precipitous rates that far exceed the attrition on other books.

Byrne decries the larger non-Byrne fan base for destroying his career, but aric is puzzled as to why anyone could suggest that Byrne is having a problem with his career.

It really seems that being a steadfast fan of John Byrne's current output and of the state of his career has to include an ability to overlook and misread very clear and obvious indicators.

You have a point there.

John Byrne is an infinitely more talented and skilled artist than Rob Liefeld yet unlike Byrne, Liefeld is currently working.

As impolitic as Liefeld can get, and even though he's generally considered less talented than Byrne, he's still able to finesse work.

If Byrne feels that his career has been destroyed (his words), perhaps it suggests that Byrne is far more impolitic than even Liefeld. No matter how talented an artist is (and though I think that Byrne has considerably poor writing skills, his artwork is certainly at least up to most professional standards) if he's too consistantly unpleasant or abusive to the people who make the decisions about hiring him, he's likely to suffer professional ramifications.

It may be true that most of Pally's posts are full of rampant unsubstantiated speculation and nonsense, but let's be fair; if none of the rest of us can take him seriously, there's no reason that he should be expected to take himself seriously or post in a serious manner.

At least he's kind of fun in his consistant inconsistancies and absurdities.

Y'know it could be a landslide, a "BYRNE/CLINTON" ticket would get some serious support from republicans with poor spelling.
