They say that almost every other week about some new movie. The point is, who cares what they think, it's what you think, what you like. This whole idea of: "Well, it got 4 stars from Fatass Ebert, so it must be good" is a crock.

We all have different tastes, just like with everything else. All that we have to do is realize to respect that and quit flamming each other for no other reason than 'cause we want to waste time on the internet. The more I read on sites like this, the more I realize most of you guys must either be 12 years old or don't have a girl friend to waste all your time doing this crap.

That being said, I thought "Life is Beautiful" was a million times better than "Schindler's List". Not that SL was a bad movie. It wasn't bad at all, just not the best of the 90's.

That would be "Fireworks"

I am kinda looking forward to seeing K-19 with my Dad since he loves that kinda stuff.

Odd, I could barely bring myself to sit through Life is Beautiful.

I brought up what the National Associaction of Film Critics said about Schindler's List, because I AGREED with it. In my opinion, it was the best film of the 90's.

As for Life Is Beautiful, I'll agree it was best movie of 1997, but not the best of the decade. In my opinion, the second half of the film isn't as strong as the first half.

It would be really hard without seeing it, there was so much physicality involved. But here goes:

Early in the interview, Conan commented on HF's career as a leading man/hero type, and asked if that made it impossible to do any really silly roles (Conan mentioned Dumb&Dumber as an example). HF replied that he would love to do roles like that, since he enjoys "stupid" humor. Conan was shocked, and said that couldn't picture HF wearing a soup can on his head and (here's where the physical part gets in) waving his arms around like an idiot. At which point HF started doing exactly that, and making a stupid noise (just string a bunch of vowels together). Then he and Conan were both doing the arm-waving-stupid-noise thing.
After more of this, Conan started sayign that they really really had to start talking about the movie. HF stared to describe it, but stopped and said "What kind of name for a movie is K-19? What a stupid name. And I had to speak Russian. Why Russian? Why did I have to speak Russian, Conan?"
The interview basically degenerated from there, and at several points, HF would simply stop talking and do the arm-waving-stupid-noise thing.

It was unbelieveable.
