I don't watch Angel (except when a BtVS character guests), so I don't really know the character, but from these three episodes, I really don't like Connor. Not as a "person," but as a character. So I liked seeing Faith kick his ass left and right and then back again.

Matthew I watch Angel faithfully and I can't stand Connor either. I think it was an absolutely crappy storyline the writers came up with. They could have done much better.

A pretty solid episode! Some real conflict and surprise for a change!
So now what, Spike has a soul, lost his chip, got rid of the trigger (when did they come up with that-- don't remember them mentioning it?) And so now he is going to start killing again of his own free will? I wish Spike would get his redemption and get it over with!
But what I'm really wondering about is, Jack Bauer whispered something in Nina Myers ear before they took her away. What was that about? Are we ever gonna find out?

Joe--if you wanna talk about 24 go to the 24 thread. Personally, I thought this was one of the best episodes of the season. Spike's trigger was mentioned a while ago...I forgot the exact episode. However, it had been forgotten about as everyone thought he was cured. Well, he is now. Spike isn't Angel, Joe. His redemption isn't coming and don't be suprised if he dies in the last episode. I wonder if Wood still wants to kill Spike. It'll be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out.

It sounds like a repeat of one of the episodes I didn't see. Since I'm having to wait until Saturday to see it, is this definitely a new episode?

The trigger has been mentioned several times and, I believe, in more than one episode.
Charles -- no, it was a new episode. Really good one, too. The flashbacks explain a LOT, and Giles gets a wicked lesson in "Be careful what you ask for -- you just might get it."

Good episode! Like Brent said: Spike isn't Angel. For one thing, the characterization so far hasn't depicted a 'two seperate personnas in one body' kind of thing,Angel/Angelus,and I hope they DON'T go that route. It was a little difficult buying that Sweet William was still so devoted to his mum after he'd been turned, but I guess it just shows that vampires are people too.

Yeah, I thought it was a powerful episode, particularly in the scene where the vampirized mom says that she's begun taking pleasure in being cruel, whereas it didn't give her pleasure in life. Spike rationalized that she's been turned into a demon, but from what I know of Whedon's universe I think it's more that, with the soul gone, the self remaining to a vampire then becomes more of an unrestricted "id"-like being. (And ever any show lent itself more to Freudian analysis, I don't know what it would be.)
I had no problem with the trigger thing: I think it's been well-established (even if everyone very conveniently stopped thinking about it while doing the Buffy-goes-back-in-time bit). The thing I can't believe no one's discussing is the part about the Slayer line being broken: it's entirely too coy and convenient for them not to reference that mysterious bit of info for this long a time. Obviously the writers put it off while waiting for Faith to make her appearances, which is pretty sloppy writing.
