Well, if Giles is The First, then everything he tells the Scoobies is suspect, but not necessarily wrong. And it would be good strategy for him to seize upon something Anya thought of herself, and then accompany her to interview the basketball demon, to make sure the story was heard, and insure that it was passed on to others. The First would want to manipulate events so that it seemed that this deadly revelation came from someone else-- since he's at risk of being discovered.

I don't think Giles is the First. It just seems too obvious. However, all the clues are pointing that way. I mean, that threat he gave to the demon about the slayer coming down on him, didn't seem like Giles.

I still think there's more to the story. Just like there's more to Principal Wood's story.

There has to be something more to Giles...HAS to be...not only does his character seem off, but just the fact that they haven't even touched on that final scene where the Giles death watch begun makes it suspicious.

No, It was one one the Slayers in training. I'm fed up with reading all this. I really am. It appears to me that you guys Brent and Matthew included) Have not been watching the show at all.
The telepathy thing was the first clue and now this.

Joss isn't slipping. Not by a minute. The real question is not who the First is, but when will we see it for what it is.

Jesus H. Christ, Lord. What bug crawled up your ass? So, I forgot about the telepathy. I haven't even entered into the discussion about whether or not Giles is The First in a while, so what does the "who was holding the files?" question have to do with me?

I watch the show quite closely, and I think a lot about it. I even cleared up some questions folks had about other matters from this episode. That doesn't mean that sometimes I won't forget some things.

What the fuck???

I agree with Sunder! Who are we to discuss the show? Mere mortals who are capable of forgetting such a crucial detail as Willow's telepathy in the cemetary scene.

This is why all the intelligent people avoid this forum like the plague-- numbskulls just speak their mind without having memorized the series first!

I bet some of you cretins don't even remember which one is Andrew's favorite James Bond!

Oh, I definitely remember that... cause he's... uh, MY favorite Bond, too! smile Timothy Dalton, of course!

Do I get get a Buffy star now?

I also remember the name of the first guy Buffy dated on the show (Owen, in the episode Never Kill a Boy on the First Date); I also caught the in-joke of bringing her first post-Angel boyfriend (Scott Hope) out of the closet long after he'd left the show -- and right around the time actor Fab Filipo, who played Scott, was playing a queer guy on Showtime's Queer As Folk.

Am I good enough now, huh? Am I worthy?

Oh you guys...

Look, As far as this site goes, this is one of the only mediums that I really like. The Buffy/Angel exchange is fun and sometimes thought provoking. Brent and Matt (and to a small extent Joe) I feel that you guys (me notwithstanding) are true fans of the show. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong here, but those two shows are two of our favorites. We're geeks about it. I know I am.

Sorry, I just expected a bit more.

There is one question someone can answer for me. I recorded the last episode, but I taped over it. So I cannot answer it for myself.

When the First was harranging Spike about Buffy not coming to save him; did she/it touch Spike's cheek, and then his lips?

That has bugged me. Perhaps someone can clear it up for me.

Lord,

"Sorry, I just expected a bit more."

Uh-huh.

"There is one question someone can answer for me. I recorded the last episode, but I taped over it. So I cannot answer it for myself."

You mean to tell me that you've actually FORGOTTEN something about the show??? GODDAMN YOU STOP PISSIN' ME OFF I EXPECT A BIT MORE FROM YOU.

----------

In more exciting BtVS news, has anyone here read the Debbie Drechsler interview in the latest issue of The Comics Journal? I mean, I knew even before this chat that Debbie Drechsler rocked, but now I know that Debbie Drechsler DOUBLE ROCKS. She's a great admirer of the show! She said -- and I do quote -- "Buffy is a really amazing show."

You go, girl!

Here's an email I got today about the telepathy sequence where we actually hear inside the cast members' heads:

here's fun news to know and tell. apparently in the most recent buffy where buffy initiates telepathy with willow, the canada version aired with a voice that was *not* SMG's. someone put the version we in the US heard as well as the Canadian version online.

it's very interesting. wondering if it means
something or nothing at all. anyway...have a listen.

Canada vs. U.S.
