"A film for Christians", man you are severely limited! It's great that you were moved, lots of people were. Hell, I was moved too. I'll get the dvd in a minute, it's a good, maybe great piece of film.
But to say, this movie is for Christians, well, might as well pour holy water before the church entrance of movie room one as well. Anyone with at least a smidge of vested interest should be able to see this movie, w/o being under Christian scrutiny. I believe in Christ, and I believe that he'd not have such a heavy condescending hand against people who were critics. Dude was benevolent. Beside's there's always Revelations for the smiting of sinners right?
Can't believe how many snobbish church goers are quick to snub anyone with a diferring opinion or someone that looks different. It's like an evil trinity of Church, PTA, and Home Owners Association.

I was merely attempting to point out that i believe incumbent Christians were the target auduience of the film. It was not my intention to say that "if you're not a Christian, you can't see the film." Obviously anyone who lops down thier 8 bucks can go see the film, i was not trying to segregate. It just seems clear to me that Gibson aimed his film toward people that were already somewhat versed in Christian beliefs and that's why the film told such a concise, detailed tale. It would not shock me in the least that someone who doesn't know Christ would find the film overly brutal and confusing, but, conversely, if you know the parameters in place and have accepted Christ as your savior the film is indeed powerfully effective. That is all.

Thought The Passion was a wonderful piece of filmmaking. A moving, harrowing experience that was definitely not anti-Semitic IMHO.

On the other hand my girlfriend hated it and branded it a gratuitous piece of shite.
