Yes, they sort of are. I forget on what site I read this, but the trigrams in the logo are a subtle distortion of the ones in the traditional I Ching circle.

Anyone else catch the crossworld puzzle moment, where the question is "Gilgamesh's friend?"

Together with that and the recent reference to Biblical Book of Josiah, LOST is shaping up to look like a heavy-duty mythological mutha******.

It's the chinese equivalent of a dreamcatcher. Can't remember the name. You hang it by your door and it catches evil spirits that enter your home. The center, instead of having a swan or whatever in it, has a mirror.

(someone gave me one for christmas years ago)

Well, neato.

Mike's scene with the computer is subject to countless Instant Messenger jokes. I expect the next message to be "what are you wearing?" or "a/s/l"

Have you guys noticed that in all of the flashbacks, every single one of the characters lives sucked ass?

This sorta fits into the whole characters being in purgatory, sort of, but i think that this is some common link between all of the the characters.

That's interesting,AudioslAve. While all the characters seem to be working out the issues they had in pre-island lives with varying degrees of success,I think it's only been Locke who has actually stated that the island is a place of 'second chances'. Conflict resolution can be dangerous though. Thanks to posters who caught the visual similiarity of the dome design to I Ching & chinese dreamcatchers, that one totally flew by me.

Bumpity-bump-bump..since the show's back after 2 months of re-runs.

Anyways, I'm starting to think that Alvar Hanso has orchestrated everything in the show. Even key events in the flashbacks could have been manipulated by the enigmatic Hanso. Like something Lex Luthor would do. For some reason, Jack's flashback made me think that Gabriella and Desmond were agents of Hanso. Probably because Jack's flashback was essentially worthless and I kept thinking: "what should we be picking up from this?" The main element wasn't necessarily his wife leaving, but Gabriella and her dad's insistence on Jack as a "miracle worker". Maybe there were more agents in past episodes?

I'm guessing that Hanso wants to keep his "experiment" on the island going. He somehow found each of the people on the plane and found a way to get them onto the island. Each person possesses some vital quality or trait that he needs for his experiment. He even arranged for seat positioning and the actual crash. He wanted to introduce these key people to interact or replace the existing island inhabitants. Then it turns out he's a big fan of Peter Pan and Darwinism.

I dunno..but it's the first concrete theory I've had in awhile about the show.

All that needs to be said is this-

Mr. Ecko = Black Panther.

Get it done Marvel Entertainment.
