I can't lie. I was really dissappointed when they cancelled the EXPO. In spite of everything that had happened in the last week this would have been a HUGE bright spot in an otherwise dark week.

But, I digress.

While we wouldn't have had the book ready for the EXPO itself we would have pushed the hell out of Potlatch 2001: Comics to benefit the CBLDF. Heck, maybe by next year we'll have 2 or 3 issue of this out? www.potlatchcomics.org

Potlatch 2001: Comics to Benefit the CBLDF is coming in December. Thatís right. The leftovers from The EXPO: 2001 Anthology have banded together to create a companion book for The EXPO Anthology. Made up from a variety of artists and writers from around the country, Potlatch 2001 has been created to spotlight those that have the drive, determination, and talent to make their own brand of comics shine.

Brought together by Steve Noppie of Angry Dog Press and graphic designer Randy Oest, this eclectic group of individual writers and artists hope to show the small, and mainstream, press that they have stories to tell.

Contributors include;

Steve Noppenberger
Marc Deering
Chris Staggs
Lonnie Allen
Randt Oest
Jose Mochove
Juan Navarro
Bill Lange
Carl Mitsch
Jennifer M. Contino
Mike Watts
Chris Yambar
Chris Pitzer
Stan Yan
Greg Vondruska
Jason Alderman
Sal Cipriano
Mark Stelmach
Rusty Rowley
Michael Carroll
Neil-Fitzpatrick
Ryan Dunlavey
Justin Savage
Ron LeBrasseur

Donít recognize most of these names? Be careful. In the future you might.

Every name on the list is bringing their special brand of comic flavor to the page, for you, the readers. This is a special bunch of people that have a lot of stories to tell.

Be warned. These could be the next comics superstars.

Hey Marc,

I was dissapointed as well about the cancelling of the show, but in light of last weeks events, I guess cancellation was the right move. I would have rather it have been postponed. Anyway I was posting to ask you
specifically,...if I remember correctly, dont you live in hampton roads? Man we should have gotten together, and had a little SPX party of our own.

It's awfully hard to have a show when over half of your exhibitors needed to fly in and the airports are closed.

If we held the show and gone through with all the expendatures necessary and then had such a lackluster turnout, the EXPO would have probably been bankrupted. No more shows, ever.

Hey, Greg, I completely understand and I will always applaud your efforts. I love the EXPO, it's the best show of the year, hands-down.

I CAN'T WAIT for the show next year as I'm sure it'll be huge AND great.
