It's cheap. I thought it wasn't as good as Expo 2000 was, but it's still a showcase of current small press guys.

I haven't checked out EXPO 2000, but, yeah, the price is right (7.95 US) and there's quite a variety of work. Highlights in the 2001 edition include Alex Robinson, Art Spiegelman, James Kochalka, Sam Henderson, Chris Staros, Bo Hampton, Marc Bell, Pete Sickman-Garner, and on, and on...

Book 3 is in print and any store should be able to get it for you. It's also available from the publisher at fantagraphics.com or marsimport.com

Try ordering from the publisher at http://www.drawnandquarterly.com or send me an email and I can get you one.

Hiya, kids!

Delighted to wander over here from X-Fan's temporary home (thanks, ComiCon!)

Took a long hiatus from comics, from about Crisis on Infinite Earths time - until about a year ago. Since then, I've been 'catching up' mostly thru collections and GNs. (Ah! A new abbreviation. Just what was needed.) I've become very fond of the WildStorm line, following the WildC.A.T.s - StormWatch - Authority story line. Dislike returned with that scummy "new" authority, and I miss Frank Quitely's work.

Also follwed DC's "Our Worlds At War" storyline and a few related. I fear DC is making just a few too many changes to the geography to make it sensible to newbies. Generally solid stories and good art, but not much to be staggered about.

I'm enjoying Marvel's Ultimates titles, and see how these are more tied into upcoming film and TV projects.

Which brings me to some of my favorites. From Hell was just as great as the film was bad. Eddie Campbell really did some fascinating architechtural drawing (sorry, youngsters, he also included naughty pictures - wait). Alan Moore is one of my favorite writers, from Watchmen on. Just got Top 10, introducing me to Gene Ha's art )how cold are you in Minnesota along thru now, Gene?) and the first two of Kurt Busiek's Astro City books.

Yep, I done spent a pile of money on a pile of trades. What a bargain! Tons of great art, great writing - and I must say there has not been one page that I would call "bad". The very worst of the lot is 'ordinary' - meaning superb art beyond my capacity to create. Thanks to all the creative folk (and Frank for starting the thread!)
