Yeah, one wonders why they don't reprint this (and other good stuff). With just a bit of promotion, it'd sell like hotcakes.

I agree with the guy who wants to collect P. Craig Russell's Killraven from Amazing Adventures. Great stuff. There was even an issue by a young Keith Giffen, and it was fabulous. Totally Russell inspired.

About the Lee/Kirby FF and Avengers: weren't there some softcovers of the Marvel Masterworks series?

About the best of What If?; there was a TPB of this that came out back in '90 or '91.

I'm amazed to hear that people are such great fans of Punisher War Zone. Personally, having been weaned on Baron's Punisher, I was shocked about how terrible War Zone #1 was (I bought #1-8, but only for Romita jr.'s art). Punisher was killing people left and right in a way that was totally inconsistent with the previous portrayal of his character. But well, to each their own.

Right now, I'm anxiously anticipating volume 5 for 100 Bullets, hopefully within 6 months.

War Zone 1 was the first Punisher comic I'd ever read, and so it established the Punisher in my mind.

I'm not sure if they did this or not, But some House of Secrets (Vertigo series) would be nice. Jim Shooter's Knights on Broadway. Some Valliant stuff (both versions) would be great if that hasn't been done, Esp Archer and Armstrong. I think they might have done this but I'd like to see a trade of All the Green Lantern/Green Arrow/Flash crossovers from the mid nineties. There was a crossover with GL/F, A minni of the two, TWO crossovers with GL/GA, and one with all three. THat would make an attractive package. Oh yeah, remeber Dc's Tangent Line of comics back in 97 and 98? That would be good, if only so I'd know which order to read them in! And Sleepwalker! That was kinda twisted.

My wish list
1)Nexus. I just finished re-reading the entire run. Something I do every few years.
2)Badger. I'm in the midst of re-reading the entire run. Marvel Knights, hire Mike Baron to write something. Please.
3)American Flagg. The Chaykin issues. I think I'm gonna re-read this next.
4)Mark Millar's Superman Adventures and his
Swamp Thing work. If you've never read them find them. You won't be dissapointed.
5)Alan Moore's misc DC stories. Omega Men backups, GL backups, etc.

To answer some questions. DC has announced both the last Animal Man and Alan Moore Swamp Thing trades will appear early next year.

George. I spoke with Bob Greenberger at a NY con a few months ago. A Neal Adams Batman collection similar to GA/GL and Deadman is planned. They're trying to figure out what to include (Batman, Brave and the Bold, covers, etc.) and how big and how many volumes it would take. They don't want to miss anything and are worried about price.

Somebody mentioned a copyright problem, but they're bringing the character back. Are they not going to make any mention of his father and Smith? Don't know how that's going to work. Anyway, if they could do it, it should be the WHOLE series -- all 116 issues (Special Marvel Edition 15 & 16, MOKF 17-125, MOKF Annual & Giant Size MOKF 1-4 -- I'll forgo the Black & White magazine stories). The whole thing interlocks into one complete story that has an actual ending -- not a completely satisfactory one, to be sure, and one that was later "unended," so to speak. But it may precede Sandman and Cerebus and the like as the first really truly beginning-long-long-middle-and-actual-end comic book saga in North American history (at least I don't know of any earlier).

Also, while I'm on the subject of Doug Moench (who wrote the vast majority of those), how about Aztec Ace? I'd not only like to see those collected, I'd like to get the rest of the story!

Steve Englehart's Coyote. And his Batman comics with Marshall Rogers. And Rogers' run (with an uncredited Max Allen Collins) on the Batman newspaper strip, which was FANTASTIC!

I'll second (or third) Chaykin's American Flagg! -- although the first two storyines were, in fact, collected and printed, and though they're out of print now you should be able to find them (I own them both). I have Kirby's Fourth World both in the B&W collections and the original comics, EXCEPT for the Jimmy Olsen's! When are they gonna reprint those???

Mostly nostalgic stuff, though not wholly limited to that. Here's some things I would very much consider buying:

John Byrne's run on Fantastic Four. Many readers place this second only to Kirby and Lee's amazing run. I just might agree. Byrne's take on the FF was a lot of fun, with just the right mix of science, adventure and exploration, galactic menaces, and, of course, family squables. I'm surprised we haven't seen anything outside of that Visionaries release.

All of the non-phonebook Cerebus tales, including the backups and shorts that appeared in a few dozen places here and there. Some might be sketchy - does the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles story belong there, for instance, or the Spawn story? - but the majority of the stuff was solo Sim and pure Cerebus. (Include the Cerebus: Zero stories too, please)

The original run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, of which I have very fond memories. I haven't read them in years, so for all I know they don't stand the test of time very well. At the very least, it would make a nice document of an historical footnote in comics history.

Some of that DC science fiction stuff from the 50s. Anybody remember Space Ranger and ... Tommy Tomorrow, I think it was? These were really fun books, but I'm not about to dig out what issues I have and read them. Plus, I'm missing a lot. Those stories are classic.

And a whole bunch of Peter David's Incredible Hulk, because I never read it and feel like I missed out.

Probably not going to happen but it would be nice if DC included the Peter Milligan issues of Animal Man when the collect the rest of Morrisions stuff. The story is on par with Morrisons and the characters introduced are a real gem (I thinks its #28 to #32)
