A LITTLE LESS 'EVIL AND MALICE' FROM IMAGE

Sometimes the market doesn't provide what the comic fans want and sometimes the fans don't pick up what the market provides, even when they say it's what they want.

Case in point: Image Comics' "Adventures of Evil and Malice," a superhero miniseries aimed squarely at the youth market, which has gotten rave reviews from both fans and critics.

But man does not live on reviews alone.

Series writer Jimmie Robinson told the Comic Wire Thursday that the four issue miniseries would be finishing up with its third issue, shipping in November ...

NEW 'WILDCATS' WRITER CASEY LOOKS TO 2000

Joe Casey has broken his silence about where he'll lead the Wildcats.

As first reported in the Comic Wire, Casey takes over the troubled flagship of the DC/Wildstorm line, although he was already writing the adventures of one former Wildcat, in the monthly "Mr. Majestic" comic. The title goes monthly in January, and then in February, with issue 8, Casey and artist Sean Phillips take over for Scott Lobdell and Travis Charest (who will continue to do covers for the book).

"I was quite interested in Scott and Travis' original intention for the book, so I'm happy to continue in that direction," Casey said in a press release distributed online by DC Comics on Friday ...
