Also, the new issue of The Comics Journal (#254 -Will Elder cover) has a number of interesting articles on the state of comics criticism and is worth checking out.

I enjoyed the pieces very much, and found the reviewers' insights into how they feel about their work very interesting.

I don't tend to read many reviews to help me decide about a book directly, although very occasionally I will seek out reviews of a series that's been going for a while if it has been recommended to me. However, I definitely use them to decide about a comics creator's work.

I particularly enjoyed the part of the articles where we found out which of the reviewers was actually Jess Lemon. Nice work !
