I can't tell which one is better. The zombies are faster in the new one, but the whole first half hour is loads of fun.

I'm going to see it this afternoon. First I'm gonna watch a bunch of Living Dead flicks to get jazzed for it. That ten minute preview on USA Monday night sold me.

His technique is different than Romero's, and there's no savini to speak of. George would tend to "numb you out" to set you up for a bigger shocker (like the endless shooting through the first 2/3rds of the film before you get to the "real" gore, which then is even more intense.

If you liked the original, you'll like this, it cranks decently post apocalypse, and you'll love the first half hour.
