I love sweeping generalizations, like 'everybody hates', and it's usually fairly representative of the poster's mindset. They can't imagine the difference between expressing anger over hate speech and actively hating--because to an emotionally immature mind, it's the same thing.

Back when the Iraq War was first starting up, the slur was tossed around pretty freely towards the supporters. I can't recall if I've ever been called that directly.

Is there any reason no one has posted a single rebuttal to the article that is the topic of this thread? Well, El said something but it sounded more like x-files style conspiracy speak than actual debate. Sure it's ugly, but is it ugly because it's posted on here in big bold letters (which is Dave's right via his right to speak ya know.. sorry carry over from other thread) or is it ugly because this is a legitimate problem? I mean seriously, lets not be naive and think that gay men are not a promiscious lot, they admittedly are in lots of cases. Not saying there aren't monogamous gay couples, not saying that at all, but this article is not speaking to them. It's speaking to the element that is promiscious and carrying a deadly virus, shoot if you love other gay people as much as go on and on about on the numerous gay-rights threads around here i would think you would be pissed off at the thought of one gay person inflicting a deadly virus on an unknowing, innocent partner. I dunno, just looks like you guys are running from the issue, and choose instead to focus solely on the messenger.
