Hello. I've just registered, I read a bunch of the threads and I'd like to say thank you for the humor and the information presented here.

The subject I'd like to bring up is artists that I'd like to see pick up a pencil and draw pages. Pages. Seeing artists I enjoy do covers and inking makes me cringe.

I know that there are circumstances that make things be the way they are, yet I remain:
Fan with an Agenda (FWAA).

Well, RB beat me to Bolland, who actually has managed to put out a few short stories, generally in the first issues of Vertigo's assorted anthology miniseries.

I'll second almost all prior nominees as well.

How does Charest make a living? 9 pages every 2 months? They ought to just have him do every third issue instead of stiffing us for half an issue.

Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez can be added.

Well, Al Williamson does inking because he's slow with the pencil.

I'd love to see Dave Dorman actually draw a comic with pen and ink, instead of painting covers.. I've seen some of his pen and ink work, and it's very good indeed.

David Mack (dammit man, I know you got the whole movie and daredevil thing happening, but please bring out Kabuki 9!)

Tim Bradstreet: he recently did one issue of Hellblazer and it was truly creepy art.

Glenn Fabry: the Preacher covers are great, but his ink work isn't bad either.

There are many artists who I'd like to see doing anything (are you listening Steve Bissette?) Personally I'd love to see John Totleben get back to doing work like the Miracleman stuff he once did. The others listed previously almost all apply here as well (anyone else think Travis Charest did better stuff as Darkstars penciller with Scott Hanna inks??)

Bradstreet, man I agree with that.

Sienkiewicz is drawing stories pretty actively, I liked the Oni Press stuff very much. Plus his inks are dominating most of the time.

I think Bolland suffers from a little lack of "umph" that he used to have. George Perez too, but again that's just my opinion.

Speaking of David Mack, mi Madre is a part of this rubber stamping hobby thing, and it has evolved strangely to include lots of things, journal art and mail art included. Well, she sends me a note yesterday voraciously asking if I'd heard of Kabuki. I gave her my take that the art was varying, but the better end was as good as it gets, and that it's lots of text.

So there's a weird ripple for you, that she and others might be influenced by Kabuki and take it around the country to "rubber stamper" conventions.

Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez is, in my opinion, one of the finest comic artists around. I never tire of looking at his work...
