I sent an email to an address I found on a page with some Kaluta art, and the reply came back from him supposedly. I gushed a little and then mentioned that I'd really like to see more pages. A month and no reply. D'Oh!

I think Kent Williams is working on something for Vertigo and George Pratt is working on a painted Batman book but don't hold me to it. John Totleben did a Vertigo Dreaming issue this year. Absolutely gorgeous.




Had a story in Flinch, the Vertigo anthology.

Actually, the first Mike Kaluta/Dan Jurgens/Steve Epting Aquaman issue is out, and the cover is absolutely gorgeous. (The interior art isn't bad either.)

I'm not just looking for anything from Sienkiewicz, I'm talking about doing the work we know he's capable of. The ink jobs he's been doing the last few years are just dress-up for mediocre pencillers to start with. I want a substantive chunk of MEAT, yo?

Someone else beat me to it, but I'll go on record all the same. Charest's Darkstars work is an embarrassment next to his current work. He's stepping out of Lee's shadow the way Sienkiewicz did from Neal Adams' thirteen years ago. I hope he has the sense to find material worthy of his increasingly considerable talents.

I wish I'd been able to describe Darkstars that aptly. I just said "hunh, no thanks!" or something.

I don't know, I liked Sienkiewicz' Oni Press stuff, and I'm just happy every time I see him inside a comic book doing the pencils. So he stays in the "We want to say thanks and please focus more on limited type series!" section.

I guess no one else agreed with me on Charest, oh well. I know for a fact that George Pratt is in the process of completing a 96 Page fully painted Batman Story similar in Presentation Style to Enemy Ace. He says that he expects it out before the end of 2000, barring something weird along the way. He has a website in the very early stages as well at www.georgepratt.com which has a list of a few things available from him and mentions the upcoming Batman book specifically.

Did I miss something here? Maybe Michael Golden. Unforunately, that disaster that was Jackie Chan's Spartan X may be the thing people remember(?)him for, if at all. Also, wouldn't mind some Art Adams on something he doesn't write.
