Guys, it is a noble attempt, but like most such, futile. Welcome back Kim.

>>I don't know if you realize it Sam, but this statement makes Kim's point, not yours. Saying we were in year one even though the year was incomplete is the same as saying we're in the second millennium, even tho' the millennium is incomplete.<<

I dont know if you or Kim or everyone else realizes it, but Sam has managed to do what he LOVES to do so much, derail a nice thread that has a point for once and have everyone pay attention to him.

Great job Sam!! I know I've said I'm KING OF THE TROLLS, but I defer to you on this one!

MASTERFUL!

Damn it, Jack, you're right.

Well, the thread's still about Time, anyway.

Crud. Sorry about that. So what's getting reviewed in other places besides Time? I know Entertainment Weekly does comic reviews occasionally, right? Any other of the so-called "respectable" press? Does any major newspaper review comics?

Just to set things straight, there was indeed a full page review of GORAZDE in this week's Time by Joel Stein (not Joe Klein).

As for this other matter, nothing annoys me more than this needle-dicked arguing over the millenium. I STILL can't write out a check properly, and as far as I'm concerned that marks a new millenium as well as anything.

I saw a cool ad on TV last nite for some national hotel chain thats giving away some superhero something when you stay. So theres these nice images of Superman Batman and Wonder Woman popping up all over. I was a little distracted while the ad was on, but anyone else see it?

"Needle-dicked"? Now who's irrelevantly bringing gender into the discussion, Heidi? (Not that the insult "needle-dicked" carries much impact for a male living in a city whose official landmark is a 184-meter needle. Ahem.)

Anyway, to end this whole millennial madness thing (and it's "millennium" with two "n"s, Heidi), everyone who's posted here so far is right (except Sam, which means everyone is right). 2,000 is A new millennium, it just isn't the beginning of the Third Millennium A.D.

As for TIME -- well, I'll be Sam Catalino's uncle! Apparently I misunderstood Dougan when he said they killed the piece -- he must've only meant they killed the cartoon piece, but what they did is recycle Stein's raw material into what is, on balance, a far better, serious and more useful (to us, and to comics in general) piece.

TIME is still on our side.

I always thought it was "Needle Dick; the Bug Fucker" I never had a use for anything that thin though.

Jack, I'm guessing that that was a Best Western ad, since they've done DC superhero promotions every summer for several years.

As for respectable press, I'm still astounded by seeing a review of Preacher in ELLE, of all places.
