Yah, I'm media boy today. I heard Ben Katchor on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross. In the half hour he was on, they managed to play several of the Julius Knipl radio plays (which were produced by another of the MacArthur award winners) and he covered why he went into comics:
the lure of mass production. Of his work being thrown away after being enjoyed. That's the nature of comics, he said.
She seemed interested in his work, though she was far more entertained by the radio productions of it than by the printed version.
