I guess to Kim the distance between -1 and 1 is 1. Well, math was never his strong suit.

We are finishing the first year of the millennium.

As I am so fond of reminding folks the number of the year is arbitwawry, you silly wabbit.

'"Schuster" for JERRY SHUSTER'

I'm surprised that Sam didn't jump to correct Kim on this one. (Unless it was a joke on Kim's part in the first place.)

Okay, I'll bite...

That should be "Joe" Shuster, shouldn't it?

Oh, and just for the hell of it, I'll add my own:

"MacFarlane" for TODD McFARLANE

I hope no one spells Philip with two "L"s.

My wish for the new millenium? Not that anybody asked, but there you go.. in no particular order.

1. Another issue of Ivan Brunetti's "Schizo".
2. Anything by Julie Doucet.
3. An editorial by Gary Groth telling us what really went down between him and Ellison.
4. The death of these annoying little comic pamphlet and the switch to nice, over-sized, european-style hardcover books at a reasonable price.
5. An interview with Alex Toth.
6. Less questions about tv-shows or Sam Fuller and more about the actual art of drawing.
7. Huge success of the "Ghost World" movie bringing positive attention to our little alternative comic world.
8. The death of internet-based comics. They give me headaches.
9. No frivolous lawsuits.

Well, that's all I can think of now.

Happy new year!

There will be an interview with Alex Toth in the next issue of Comic Book Artist.

The Comics Journal #229, page 39, "Artist Of The Month, Dan DeCarlo":
Quote:

DeCarlo: Yeah. Then of course we had that problem with--what was his name, the guy who almost wrecked the business?
Curtis: Oh, Frederick Wertham. Lord.

But I'll tell you what--I stand with Kim on starting the Millennium with 2001. Anybody who took classes beyond Remedial Math could figure that out (and ABC News itself finally relented in these past few days). Me, I'm celebrating it with the SciFi Channel's Twilight Zone marathon.

Yeah, I'm a wild man. Might even stay up until 10:30 tonight.

Nah Andrew, I don't jump on the obvious on the great brain trust from the people who bring you porn..From what I have heard, not very satisfying porn at that...

At any rate, I am sure Kim was talking about Jerry Shuester, his garbage man...Honest mistake that...All these jerries and no Gerards...

Had I read the same TCJ Howard, I would have gleefully posted what you did above...I loved that...I wonder what Keem Thompson will have to say to that...

And if Groth did what the Captain suggested, he probably would be sued by Ellison. The line is long but not illustrious...

If Kim Thompson were to say the sky is blue, Catalino would post 15 minutes later saying "It's lime green and everyone knows it, you high-falutin' Ellison-hating pornographer..."
