More manipulation on this ebay fiasco.

Check out the huge jump at the end of the bid history.

Isn't there a law against shit like this? I mean good grief, this is so totally SHILLED it should be criminal. It is criminal.

Where is this "Fuck You" money coming from anyway?

This is worse than the Valiant thing, that Batman where his back was broken peaked at 20 but never went much higher than that. 60 for the black superman, but this stuff is nuts.

Looks like Wizard is out for blood this time.

The MAIN BIDDER of this book (todds1) has a rating of 19. He has made two purchases in the last 60 days; one a Danger Girl 9.6 chromium CGC (135.00) and a Titleist 990 5 iron with a steel shaft MRH for 31.00. The other purchases occurred more than two months ago.

eBay claims to have the ability to spot "shill" bidders like this, and this one is a CLASSIC, so they are obviously either full of shit, or in league with it.

I have filed a formal complaint with eBay's Safe Harbor team about this issue, and about cgc books in general. I have sent them scans of the Shamus editorial teams taunts of manipulating eBay in print from Whiz and they won't do a damn thing.

The actual BUYER of this book (rubyredkev) has a rating of 42. Most of his buys have occurred in the last 30 days and they are all basically for BEATLES items, paying not more than an average of 26.43 per item. He has purchased a couple of DG lithos, but he was the only bidder and sniped them for cheap (14.99) each.

Sorry everyone, a smalltime beatles memorabilia and record collector simply does NOT come from out of "nowhere" to bid $1,025 on a key manufactured item.

This is classic shilling and manipulation, and Whiz is backing it in print.

It's as illegal as the Valiant scam was, where they manipulated print run numbers in print while the books were being printed, made up fake prices when they couldn't do that and drove some of those books up to near 200 each. I know of some stores that actually bought that crap at those prices, and most of them are out of business.

Looks like they are doing Geometry now.

And why does afuentes@dangergirl.com want to pay for a book that he should be able to find around the office somewhere? To up the bidding, perhaps?

Hey, I have an idea. How about instead of posting, you take all the evidence to the media? Geez the media loves to stamp all over anything they can, send a quick e-mail to an nbc reporter and we'll see this on the news in a week. Trust me.

dangergirl.com is part of the Crawlspace network, and offers free email as part of the site. Could just as easily have been afuentes@yahoo.com or afuentes@isp.net

(Hm, writing those two sentences reminds me how damned difficult it is to deal with capitalization and punctuation along with internet info!)

I think you are seeing conspiracy where there is only insanity. The price went to $1000 at the end because that was the reserve price (it said so in the item description), and some poor fool thought that was a price worth paying. Fortunately for him, a greater fool was waiting to pounce on this bargain. All I see is two fools and a happy seller. Am I missing something?

ah yeah don, one of those "fools" never spent more than 25 bucks on a beatles item, the other's previous purchase was a 30 dollar golf club. Now all of a sudden they are the new "fuck you" money, and that's a little more than I can swallow without choking.

That's where the "conspiracy" comes in. These "bidders" are the equivalent of sockpuppets. They DONT EXIST in real life, except to shill.

Who was the seller? A member of the Shamus family.

Its the fans who get burned in deals like this, they see this shit in front of them and think these transactions are actually taking place. Makes them wanna slab their shit and get in on the action, just like Valiant 'member? Same damn thing.

They aren't taking place, these transactions. That person "rubyredken" (the major shill) already had a danger girl #1 cgc 9.9 that he paid HUGE. Why was he bidding on another?

One to read I'll bet.

Here's a copy of my most recent email to "Safe Harbor" (snicker)

>>I am making a formal complaint about seller:

f.thesith

regarding item # 553470339

I believe there was bid shilling going on by two parties:

todds1

and

rubyredkev

rubyredkev bid this book up to a thousand dollars, but recently purchased an identical copy of this book, according to his purchase history/feedback.

todds1 phone number does not exist, nor does "Todd" in the phone book.

Also, "rubyredkev" is listed as coming from Wilmington Delaware, the same town as the seller.

The price on this book normally would be just a few dollars. It appears what is happening are these "parties" are trying to jack the prices up on books like this.

I am going public with this information as we speak, in the hope that we can nip this illegal trading and shillbidding in the bud. It looks like a "bidding ring".

I ask that this "seller" be investigated, as well as the two "buyers" I listed.

Thank You,

Jack Venooker<<

We'll see what they say.
