Matthewwave--
Sure you're not thinking of KEVIN Smith? I haven't heard of Jeff Smith doing any movies, nor Sim neither.

Matthew has to be thinking of the Kevin "Clerks" Smith unless the BONE movie somehow came out without me noticing it.

I find Dave Sim's pathology interesting. And if nothing else, it was really funny to see a poster get Kevin Smith and Jeff Smith mixed up.

I don't remember "hyping" the Rall-Hellman nonsense. The Rall-Hellman battle has been the subject of strident debate on the JOURNAL boards, and has been so one-sided that I've felt obligated to weigh in on the subject. I've also, in my capacity as administrator, had to deal with outraged demands from both parties to squelch the other party. At this point I would be delighted to no end if the whole matter was dropped until the trial.

I believe Matthew is referring to either "Rover Dangerfield" or "Bebe's Kids".

Ah, so that's why.

I don't care what Sim says, if CBLDF sold tickets they'd wouldn't have to worry about cash flow for a long, long, long time

Maybe we should start some internet software countdown clock, ticking away the moments left before Dave Sim alienates every single human being on Earth.

I don't know. That story of Smith's is so old, I can't believe Dave didn't hear about it years ago. It sounds like Sim is looking to get people talking about him again...maybe his monthly numbers are dropping.

Jim: Expressing my dislike for Danny Hellman was a side benefit, admittedly.

Savage: In his editorial, Sim says he read (and was outraged by) Smith's statement when it was published in the JOURNAL a few years back, but was so focused on just doing CEREBUS at that time that he'd vowed not let anything distract him. Now that he's finished the current CEREBUS cycle he has time for extracurricular activities, apparently.
