Is it just me or are the 'Electric Girl' banners here at Comicon extremely cool? I've really liked both of the ones I've seen here and I think that says a lot for a banner ad.

Kudos to Mr. Brennan.

I thought so too. And I've NEVER said anything nice about a banner. Very neat, spare & graphic and what's on it registers fast. (And blue definitely helps)

Which is the idea, righty right?

It made me put it on my "to buy" list.

And from a marketing standpoint, it worked because I clicked on it and toured the site. There is an old saying that an ad has a 5 second life span before it hits the trash, so your ad has to capture attention within those few seconds to be effective. That's true with banners too. You see them, but do you click on them? I went to the electro girl site, and enjoyed it.

Mike's recent ELECTRIC GIRL TPB was one of the most beautifully-designed trades I've ever seen -- elegantly simple design, with very eye-appealing colors. I own all the individual issues, but I almost bought the trade as well, just because it was so gorgeous! The banners reflect this strong design sense. Nice stuff.

Thanks to Mike, I have the Electric Girl TPB and I strongly recommend it.

To see a nice scan of the cover to the TPB go here: http://users.ev1.net/~sherylr/2001_02/index.html .

For an interview of the creator (Michael Brennan) go here:

As long as we're talking about the TPB, I'd like to mention that it also includes the covers to the issues collected and in *color*. I think that's a really great feature for a trade.
