When will we see a new DAILY RARE BIT FIENDS on the comicon.com site? I loves 'em, my wife loves 'em, my pet guinea pig loves 'em...you get the idea.

Also, will these be collected in book form in the future?

Peter,
I got a new computer and just hadn't gotten around to transfering the files to it. I will today, and fresh strips should be appearing again.

You can order my first two collections of dream comics, RABID EYE and POCKET UNIVERSE through the links on the page or through Cold Cut and FM distribution.

I have another question for Rick. When are you going to have a regular comic out again? Convince Marvel to let you take a stab at Man-Thing or Werewolf By Night. Draw AND WRITE it! That would kick so much ass!

Redrocketred,
I'm writing and drawing most of a 6 issue miniseries GREYSHIRT: INDIGO SUNSET for ABC. Ships in October or November I believe. Alan's working behind the scenes as story editor, and we've got art jobs from Heath, Severin, Cho, Lloyd and Williamson.

In keeping with the topic of the thread, here are my two questions for Mr. Veitch.

Thus far you've remained fairly quiet, but do you have any comments on the Miracleman situation as one of the creators involved during Alan Moore's run?

Has there been any further discussion of DC/Vertigo publishing your Swamp Thing story?

Any plans to release a collection of your stories from Epic Illustrated? How 'bout Abraxas and the Earthman?

I'm still confused as to what is REALLY going on with this property and the dispute between Neil and Todd. Conventional wisdom is that Todd is using MM as a bargaining chip to get Neil to sign off on the stuff he created for SPAWN, but I don't think this has been confirmed by euther party.

*IF* that is the case, then I think its a terrible thing to do. I've always thought Creators' Rights must go hand in hand with Creator's Responsibilities and were I to make a list of such Responsibilities, then Stewardship Of The Form of Comics would be high on the list. I consider MM to be a seminal work in the evolution of the Modern Superhero. *IF* it is reduced to being used as a bargaining chip, then that stinks.

Not anything meaninful. Maybe I'll try and collar Karen and Heidi in San Diego and see if we can get it rolling!

Can we assume that you drew Miracleman as work for hire, or did the previous artists pass on their rights through to you and John T (and Chuck Austen)? Some sources have stated that Mark Buckingham's portion of the rights were actually half of Neil Gaiman's that he received from Alan Moore.

(With tongue planted in cheek), ever sit there and wonder why ultraviolent issue 15 is fetching such high prices on ebay for collectors, when the truly controversial issue was the onscreen birth you drew in issue 8?

samnoir,
They were contract jobs, if I remember. I have no claim to the characters, but the copyright for the art remains with myself and the inkers.
