Never been homeless, have you? Or struggled to get food in our stomach? Or watched a family member die of malnutrition because you didn't have enough money after working two jobs to feed them right?

Then shut the fuck up.

Apparently Bush froze their assets during one of their big shows of anti-terrorist activity last year, but it was a few months after they froze almost every other groups assets

Hold it! Flag on the play!

Are you saying that you have a family member that actually DIED of malnutrition? Let's have some proof please.

And what does dying of "malnutrition" mean? Starvation or what?

Young and old people in this country can be starved to death when their caretakers neglect them, but between welfare and charity I don't think anyone in this country is going to die of malnutrition simply because they can't get food.

Yup, I have. Thanks for asking. Unless a car counts as a home. Then the answer is no.

Yup, I have. Thanks for asking. In the third person.

Thankfully not. And thanks again for asking. (Full of questions today, aren't we?)

Awww, aren't you a cute little one? Can I scratch you under the chin? Adorable! If I could take you home with me, I would.

Too bad you're nittering little rant does exactly zero to disprove the fact that poverty in the U.S. is not comparable to poverty in other parts of the world, and in many cases folks living poorly elsewhere would love the opportunity to be poor by U.S. standards.

But hey, thanks for playing. Throw a few quarters on the table and play again some time. You're a fine sport, kiddo.

Ooooh, testy, are we?

Hey, when are you going to get a site design over at revolutionsf.com that doesn't make my eyes bleed?

Someone who's living in a state of poverty isn't neccesarily on the streets homeless starving to death. It could be a man whose had two kids, his wife died, he has to keep two jobs to support his family and he has to take care of his kids in spare time, they all live in a crappy rat infested two room apartment, etc etc etc...in America, that would be considered poverty. So yes, shoegaze is right.

-Also: Mbunge, I think it's really lame to tell km to prove that he has a family member who's died of malnutrition. WHat's he supposed to do, give us a phone number so we can call his mom and ask her if he's lying or not? Show us an internet obituary? Christ.

I think he meant proof that someone can die of malnutrition, not that he had a family member who died.

To be fair, if you're going to self-righteously insist on credentials for participation in a discussion, it helps to have them yourself. KM's post certainly implies he's experienced the examples first hand. A simple "yes, in fact I HAVE had a family member die of malnutrition, so fuck off," would be quite the trump card.
