Unless you mean go over to the Kingdom, cuz I definitely don't go there.
And why not? Steve Bissette's forum
THE SWAMP (I invite everyone to click it and check it out - you'll like it, he's a good guy with thorough knowledge of the Horror Genre, among other things) is moderated by STEVE, Heidi. Gutter-stuff doesn't go on there, period. We keep the mudslinging out of there because we RESPECT and LIKE Steve, not because we're scared he'll boot us out if we disagree with him (or get on his bad side by mentioning some obscure piece of Pop Culture he doesn't happen to like). He doesn't call people 'cunts' - as a matter of fact, I've never seen him insult anyone. He treats everyone as equals, not toadish underlings. He never locks down threads he isn't interested in (and people are having fun on) with a Zeus Complex statement like 'God, I'm bored'. You should really come and see for yourself, if only just to lurk. Just don't go into The Gutters section and you'll be fine. Every other forum is civilized and orderly. The Gutters section isn't -
and that's the way we like it there.I extend a personal invitation to you, Heidi (and everyone else reading this) to the forum I co-moderate (along with geedis) -
The Strip Doctor\'s Lounge - it's a forum for Photoshop tomfoolery, fan art, reworked comic strips (the proper term is 'Detournment'), and plain old goofy pictures. It's been a little inactive as of late, so we welcome any new Photoshop Fu artists. We don't kick anyone out, and the only time we've even locked down a thread was when someone posted a rambling thread about something that had nothing to do with Graphic manipulation (that's our only rule - either post a picture, or comment on one already posted; there are plenty of other areas to chitchat on - 99% of the time we're fairly lax on this rule, too). We only did that because we hadn't figured out how to move threads to other, more suitable places on the board yet.
A friend of yours - known as Cheese012 on these and other messboards - has his own forum, too, called
Jam-A-Lam-A-Ding-Dong - it's an online Comics Jam Session. Web artists (or any other type) are welcome to join in and contribute to what's already there, or start your own storyline!
Here's the deal - I know not everyone was a fawning, drooling toady over at the WEF. But there WAS a very high Clinging Dingleberry ratio over there, and some of them had moderator hammers, and some of them attempted to be 'Ellis By Proxy'.
Anyway, it's an open invitation, Heidi.
