Scout,

No skin off of my teeth. I'll miss the way you TRY to insult me with your incest, jackass breeding jabs. What a way to get your point across. I wish I could be as smart as you are.

Wouldn't def 1 fit the description of that an eic job does when reviewing a book to see if fits company standards?

No. This is a common mistake people make when they don't understand the difference between censorship and editing. If a company owns the characters, and is as I mentioned the legal author of the work, it can do whatever it wants in terms of the content. Every freelancer knows (or should know) this going into a WFH situation. If a company doesn't own the characters, but is putting up the money to publish the book, it's still their right to reject the content they find objectionable on the assumption that the characters' owners can take them elsewhere if they don't like the arrangement. (Much of that is, I would imagine, spelled out in individual tailored contracts.)

I just want to say that, despite it not working out in the end, this is one helluva thread, and I thank Peter David, Mvoid, and Nat for their many patient explanations within.

I agree, tegan. This has been one helluva thread dealing with a wall named flying pig. I had lots of fun, though. smile

Yeah, damn shame.

Whatever happened to Flying Pig, anyway? Once he got that transcript, you'd think he'd have been on this board in a flash with an account of all the various ways in which Jesus showed porn to children and the CBLDF tried to cover it up.
