Thanks for the plug and compliments Zot. It was an insane year for me last year. With the economy tanking the way it did, affecting industries across the board, it struck home in a very personal way for me. I have four grown sons whom three of them were directly connected with the housing industry. So three out of four of my sons ended up moving back home with my wife and myself for the whole year. My wife’s health took a turn for the worst with her diseases and it stepped up her treatments to a new, and more expensive level, which, without medical insurance, came directly out of my pocket .The passing of my Mother last fall. And the freezing of the educational support funds cutting deeply into the enrollment of all universities struck just as deeply at my job as everywhere else in the nation. So I did the only thing that I could to offset the tremendous financial drain in which these events forced me into. I took a more proactive stance in this long term screwing that DC was doing to me, and this thread is a big part of that. I could go back and forth all of my life with them and never reach a just conclusion. But after the advice of my attorney, I placed it right here in this public forum and will not stop until DC pays me what I’m owed. It is my very wish that any freelancer, contractor, who has been screwed by any company voice their grievances here and keep this thread both open and at the top of the opening page of this site. Also I sought out work from the independents and found some. Then a wonderful thing happened to me at the Atlanta Super con last year. A message was given to me from Ari Shapiro about a possible commission. So that first commission led to another, then to others, and finally to my own gallery at comicartfans.com. Currently I have about 10 commissions going right now, one which is a huge one measuring a final size of 46 inches by 90 inches, 25 11 x 17 frames which all make up one huge cosmic scene of which the first 6 are completed and up at my site for viewing. Then, there’s Bluewater comics. After shopping a few of my own concepts around the independent world, and having some offers made, which I had said no to, and also being turned down by so many, both small publishers {they have as bad a revenue sharing policy as any large publisher I’ve ever worked for in the past} and large publishers, {One who felt that my work was very dated back in the 90’s, yet his own style and book are clearly derived from Kirby and Simonsons work, some irony there, I’d say.} we found a home with Darren Davis and company.
