My friend John Moroney has a character called The Heel who has a foot for a head. Here's my drawing of him again:

I read Erik Larsen's CBR reply, and I don't see that he got anything wrong. While I'm willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, it stretches credibility that noone at Marvel saw Erik's Obama variant cover. It would have been more honest for Joe Quesada to just come out and say "we knew a good idea when we saw it."

That's all it would have taken.

I mean--several people that work at Marvel regularly post on my message board at www.imagecomics.com --it's inconceivable that nobody heard about it.

I've cooled down considerably since I heard the news--but at the time it was really infuriating.

WHAT are you bozos babbling about? A better question would be what hack DOESN'T have new Prez Obie on the cover of their thing?!

(Of course, I'M too smart to follow the unoriginal crowd, so I did NOT put Obie on the cover of my Mr. Ed Weirdo comic.)

Geez, he's on the damn cover of everything else - get a clue! How the hell is that by any stretch "ORIGINAL" on anyone's part? He's already done Newsweek, Time, Rolling Stone, the Tabloids, plus a host of others! And I have no doubt he also is (or soon will be) on a Simpson's comic cover, as well as the TV version of same. So what?

You only prove by such quirky quibling that your idea of "originality" is ZIP!

WHO'S wrong about what, you stupid little git? PRO-abortion laws are the law of the land, not anti-ones, dummy - they have been so for over 35 years, thanks to Rowe vs. Wade, and always will be. That war was already fought, and YOUR side LOST - permanently!

But you (and/or your crappy "church" group) would still like to REVERSE things and get America breeding legions of Republican voter slaves, when you demote women back into being second class citizens, huh?

Well, keep dreaming, dude, 'cause it ain't never gonna happen! It never happened under Nixon/Ford, under Reagan/Bush Sr., under Bush Sr./Quayle, or under Bush Jr./Cheney - and it SURE as hell ain't gonna happen under Obama/Biden!!!

Lots of good interesting stuff on that John Moroney site, too!

I'm waiting to see which company puts out a special edition action figure set based on their respective Obama issues, to include an Obama commemorative plate as an accessory.

The Obama/Dragon set could have special wacker action.

And don't forget that it also has to have a bunch of shitty Erik Larsen and Jim Lee fake-looking muscles all over it! Plus lots of crappy late '80s/early '90s silver tinsel "variant issue" borders around the boxes the action figure goes in!

LOL

Hopefully when a company does do that they put a message on the packaging saying it was Joe Lee's idea originally. After all, we wouldn't want to see you betrayed.

Hey, I may not have invented Obama OR action figures, or came up with the idea of a presidential action figure or a commemorative plate, but I was the first to suggest it all in one package!
