The gossip mills are churning today with news that Transformers' Megan Fox could possibly be the She-Hulk in a Marvel film.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Jennifer Walters was turned into the She-Hulk after she received a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, the Incredible Hulk. Walters, a District Attorney, was shot and dying. The only way to save her life was for Banner to transfuse his gamma-irradiated blood into her.

As a result, Walters found herself transformed into a She-Hulk. But, unlike her raging cousin, she was able to control herself in her "hulk" state.

The She-Hulk has been a member of The Fantastic Four, The Avengers and associated with several other super groups in the Marvel Universe.

What would you think of Transformer's Megan Fox as the She-Hulk? Does she fit the build? Do you think they'd have her as Jennifer Walters and do a CGI She-Hulk?

She has to be Jennifer Walters, too small for She-Hulk.

Of course, wouldn't they just CGI her like they did Eric Bana in the Hulk movie?

Yeah, and that looked like crap. They can't even pull off a convincing normal human male figure yet — Dr. Manhattan — so a female figure in CGI would just be ridiculous.

They need somebody like Rachel McLish (Iron Eagle III), but she's probably too old now. Joanie Laurer is an obvious choice, but s/he's kinda fugly.

I don't accept your premise.

There is a much lower standard for female figures. The female CGI doesn't have to be convincing. Or even remotely realistic. It just has to be hot.

That's just it. CGI motion figures are incapapable of being "hot." Maybe still images, but not moving figures. They don't react to the forces of gravity and intertia correctly, and they don't contort right, either.

They might (*MIGHT*) be able to pull it off with a sort of Pretty-Woman-meets-Zack-Snyder's-300 approach. There was a scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Robert's head was grafted onto the figure of a woman... who had a better figure (see also the more recent Trapped Ashes). In 300, the muscles were added to the real actors with CGI and the scale of the figures (most obviously Xerxes) was adjusted with CGI. Get a woman who's fairly ripped to begin with (say, Joanie Laurer), make her taller and add/modify her muscles with CGI, then graft the actress' face and/or head onto the bodybuilder woman's body.

Dr. Manhattan would have been so much more convincing (and less expensive) if they would have just grafted Billy Crudup's face into the animation. Maybe his hands, too.
