Wow, techman, sorry to read about all of that, but also glad to see some things are looking up for you. Give my best to your wife and the rest of your family.

Do you mind if I were to link this thread over at a new site?

http://www.comicsmackdown.com/

It's a new place that's acting as a hub for all comic related feuds legit or otherwise.

If you think it'll help, I'll link it there. If not, then I wont. I wouldn't want to do anything that'd hurt your chances. But if it brings even more publicity to your plight then I'll gladly add your dc dilemma to the mix.

the tag line would probably be "techman vs. d.c.".

Good Luck. The company where I work just laid off 50 people at the beginning of the month. I lost my supervisor and the guy who worked alongside me. Tough times.

Anyone following this thread should check out the "Harlan sues Star Trek" thread. The similarities of this situation to Harlan Ellison's grievance with Paramount are worth noting.

And now to plug something else I'm working on ...Rittenhouse\JLA sketch cards....200 of them in color.
I'm still not doing anything for DC Publishing\Comics... but this is for their promotional division. A split hair, I know. But Rittenhouse cuts the check.
and since Smallvile has Plastique in a new upcoming show. They are still screwing with me. No response to numerous inquiries from my attorney here.
And the band plays on......

See this is the sort of thing that makes me crazy.

I can watch Smallville on my DVR without guilt because I can fast forward through the commercials, and I want to support creators like yourself but I don't want to buy anything that profits a big corporate entity like DC that screws over people like yourself.

It's a tough call.

My brain hurts.

Old creators, old screws. New creators, fresh screws.

Here is the latest update from the land of the used and abused. I got a call today from My attorney and friend Byron Nenos, who has finally communicated with someone representing DC.
Apparently they are actively working on this situation and expect to have it resolved as soon as I sign some paperwork. Which, as of this writing, has yet to be e-mailed or faxed to Byron .The funny thing is that they’ve stated that they can’t locate the original contracts signed by yours truly. Also, on the good news side of things they are recognizing that Plastique is a creation of mine. So someday I should get an accounting of the money paid to DC from the episodes of Smallville in which the character appeared. Of those appearances I’m owed 10% of their gross. But they still insist that since they ‘Bought” the rights to Captain Atom, they own the character. But, what they bought from Charlton is the two designs created by Ditko. Mine is a completely different character in look., origin, and powers. I’m due compensation for the promotion and usage of that image from the action figures and the JLA animated series episodes in which he appeared. Also the sales of those episodes through any retail resource . So the dance continues
On an entirely different subject I just finished 10 more instructional videos for my school and currently I’m completing the lesson plans for the online assignments that will utilize the videos. Working on four more commissions, collector cards for both Heroes, and Rittenhouse, and finished my cover for the second issue of Man-O-War.
On the sad news side of life. My wife’s father passed away on Good Friday. His name was Harold Lovely. So Death, these last two years, has taken all of my Aunts and Uncles, My mother last fall, and now my wife’s Father last week.
