The first rule of PULSE Fight Club, there will be LOTS of talking about PULSE Fight Club! I'm asking you, gentle readers, to examine the combatants chosen each week and tell me why you think one hero or villain will triumph against the opponent! These are pairings I've wondered about for quite some time. These are versus I'm guessing a lot of you will have something to say about as well. Up today is a battle between two magical women as I wonder who would come out on top if you had the backwards spells of Zatanna versus the reality bending abilities of the Scarlet Witch?







Zatanna Zatara has the ability to wield powerful magic by speaking words backwards. The Scarlet Witch has the skill to manipulate reality. With a spell, Zatanna might be able to cancel out the Scarlet Witch's powers, but with a hex, the Scarlet Witch quite possibly could silence Zatanna forever.







If the two go up against each other, who do you think would prevail? How big of a battle would ensue? What do you think would turn the tide as they face off? Would the fight be over in an instant or would it become the stuff of legend?







And, perhaps more importantly, who would you love to see write and draw an adventure of this magnitude?

Zatanna would win. Hands down.

The fishnets are a magical force.

My HOPE would be that Zatanna would win, because I like her better. My impression of the Witch is that she's more--chancy? wayward? erratic? Like her magic, unless she's achieved more control since the last time I read about her.

Zatanna is definitely more stable and dependable, and would stand a good chance of winning if she knew the fight was coming, and had a strategy to follow going in.

But Wanda is powerful and erratic. Sometimes a better fighter can be taken out by an unexpected tactic that doesn't make logical sense, but becomes effective for that very reason.

I'd like Adam Hughes, Aaron Lopresti, or Terry Dodson to do the art.

Wanda could cause Zatanna to lose her voice and lose the fight.

Zatanna could tangle Wanda with vines and keep her from casting hexes.

Three words by Zatanna: "tniaF, hctiW telracS"

It's over.

If she is able to speak those words. Wanda's powers could even work subconcious and change the probabilities so much that Zatanna's spells won't work. While Zatanne is more dependable, I think Wanda is much more powerful as of today (of ccourse she was weaker in the past)

Right. There's good points for either woman winning!

What does everyone else think?

Hey all,

Despite the battle I depicted, I think Zatanna and Scarlet Witch would be smart enough not to fight each other but to team up to confront baddies and make the world a better place. Cool working title: FASHIONABLE MAGIC!

I am totally biased of course, but considering RONN SUTTON's nine years drawing ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK, he'd be a perfect fit for drawing the adventures of ZATANNA and SCARLET WITCH -- together or separately.
