A lot of comics by big companies... oh, I thought you meant Marvel and DC. I guess you meant bigger than some old dude in Florida who publishes one or two PD reprint things a month. Okay, you got me there.

The Muppets comics are great.

I know the work of more artists than you do. You know the work of more superhero artists than I do.

I don't recall an anti-Wagner tirade on DW. I did one here about his lame painting skills. I'm buying Madame Xanadu for the art by Kaluta. I'll read the story after I have all the issues.

I don't try to draw like other artists. I draw from life, paused live-action video and my imagination. You try to draw like other artists, but only manage to ape their surface qualities. The entire substance of their work is lost on you.

I'm dropping WW because she fought a lame villain for six issues and then killed him in two panels. The story went absolutely nowhere, and Lopresti's art is not as exciting as it was to begin with. I stopped ordering it before I heard about you working with her.

What else you got?

Like I said--I haven't copied other artists since I was a kid--15, when I ganked a one-panel Gil Kane layout. When was 14, I was copying Hal Foster. Can still do nature scenes without reference. Drawing from my imagination is all I do. How you can draw from life, and draw the way you do leads me to believe you never had a very good foundation. You're all surface, with no building-blocks, so your structures are severely distorted. Maybe study Andrew Loomis--you'll see how to structure figures. Search fineart.sk. Then maybe get one of the many books on sequential storytelling. Learn about varying the size of the figures from panel to panel, so you're not doing close-ups constantly, and boring the reader senseless. Then do good comics, so you'll be able to rub it in my face without looking like a delusional hyper-prick.

To quote Robert Fripp, 'It's important to learn everything, then forget it.'. In that order. That's where I'm at. You never bothered to learn, then expected people to kiss your ass anyway. Then got mad when they didn't.

There's a lot you apparently never learned before you forgot. At least you learned how to suck dudes off to get them to ink your shit, I suppose.

Slagging somebody in the title of the thread is a mark of amateur work.
