The summer is flying by so far! (Even if a lot of us on the East coast are still experiencing "Fall" weather) Before you know it the San Diego Comic-Con will be here!

Those of you who are attending as fans, tell us what you're looking forward to!

Those of you who are attending the show as professionals, you can tell THE PULSE readers a little about what you'll be doing there.

Just fill in the blanks:

COMICS DEBUTING AT THE SHOW:
No new comics *this* year, but we've got a new limited edition SDCC exclusive print:

FAVORITE SDCC MEMORY:
Having Brendan Fraser come up to our booth and him oddly demonstrating a kung-fu pose.

ADVICE TO FIRST TIME ATTENDEES:
Wear good shoes, be well rested, and don't be afraid to take a break every now and again.

COMICS DEBUTING AT THE SHOW: Nothing debuting but I'll be selling both volumes of "The World of Quest", doing commissions, selling some originals and possibly some prints
I'll be in Artist's Alley, table EE-10 (Eaten :D)

PANELS YOU'RE ON OR ATTENDING: I'm doing a "how to" on Thursday at 2pm in Room 18. Not sure if I'm doing anything else.

FAVORITE SDCC MEMORY: Hanging out with Jim Shooter back in like, '05. He bought us drinks and told us a whole bunch of stories about guys like Buscema.

ADVICE TO FIRST TIME ATTENDEES: Buy food before you go to bring with you! If you're not allergic to Purell (like I am) use it. If you're an artist, don't be shy about showing your stuff.

BOOTH / TABLE NUMBER:
#4920

COMICS DEBUTING AT THE SHOW:
We are debuting a special limited-edition hand bound hardcover run of our second Little Vampires book, Little Vampires and Friends! Each one is signed and numbered, and made with care by me!

We have a handful of new button designs for San Diego too:

And finally, a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive print! The artwork is 7"x5" and comes in a 10"x8" black mat.

PANELS YOU'RE ON OR ATTENDING:
My plan is to not stray far from our booth, but I may be able to squeeze in a couple of panels.

FAVORITE SDCC MEMORY:
Way back around 1995, following Dan Raspler around taking digital photos of a guy in a really awesome Superman costume.

ADVICE TO FIRST TIME ATTENDEES:
Wear comfortable shoes, and don't forget check out nearby places like Seaport Village and Little Italy as alternatives to expensive convention center food. Get a multi-day pass for the trolley!

The Little Vampire and Friends look so darn cute and like they're having a good time sailing on the high seas.

COMICS DEBUTING AT THE SHOW: Fans of humor and horror movies at SDCCI will be the first to pick up my third comics compilation, Doc Splatter Ominous Omnibus. But don't stop there -- my first two Cool Jerk anthologies Hodabeast and Chickadoowa are also available at my table in Small Press, K10 (right by the bathrooms and vomitorium).

PANELS YOU'RE ON OR ATTENDING: None, I'm afraid, as I have to man the table, visit with attendees and get my books into as many peoples' hands as possible!

FAVORITE SDCC MEMORY: Every year adds more memories. It's hard to think of my favorite, but my first year - 1983 - was life-changing (hence my profession)!

ADVICE TO FIRST TIME ATTENDEES: Wear comfy shoes, keep plenty of cash, stay hydrated. And spend time with the small press and indy folks. Chances are you'll have a more personal one-on-one experience than you would trying to meet a celebrity.

Oh, and THIS should provide some insight to first-timers!

There's a lot of good advice about having money on you, I suggest getting some travel checks! I used those the first time I went to SDCC.

OFFICIAL WEBSITE: www.BastardRoad.com

COMICS DEBUTING AT THE SHOW: No debuts, but I’ll be signing copies of Popgun volumes 2 & 3 at the Image booth, I’ll have previews of the two new Bastard Road tales appearing in the upcoming Popgun volume 4 and I’ll have some free, exclusive Bastard Road swag for new fans.

PANELS YOU'RE ON OR ATTENDING: Not many…there are a couple featuring Ed Brubaker & Darwyn Cooke I’m hoping to catch.

FAVORITE SDCC MEMORY:
I’ve only been once before - 2004 - and met Matt Groening while getting an amazing ink sketch from Joe Matt at the Drawn & Quarterly booth.

ADVICE TO FIRST TIME ATTENDEES: Go to your nearest onion burger restaurant right now and hang out there all day. Then you won’t be quite so blown away by the aroma emanating from the con floor on Saturday.
