Holy crap really? That's pretty low. I mean what's next, that's almost as bad as actually posting under the people's names.

Paul tell me this wasn't so!

This "catastrophe" occurred back in 2004 & it was one of JB's moderators who made an error in judgment by messing with the preference settings of many of the sites members. I can't recall EXACTLY what happened, but I do recall that it had something to do with the "ignore function".
Some started crying about their "freedom of speech" being violated and other such nonsense. It was yet another instance that was blown way out of proportion.

I'm pretty sure it was JB personally who did it. Anyway, it's his board so he can do what he likes.

Not quite what happened, Paul. Glenn Watson was a guy who joined the Byrne board around 2004 and started nailing Byrne on some of the bullshit he had been spewing without challenge. In particular, Glenn got into a discussion with Byrne over who owned Rog 2000. During that discussion, Byrne got caught in a lie and cravenly tried to stealth edit his post to make it look like Glenn was wrong. Byrne got mad because Glenn wasn't going to let it go after catching him dead to rights and since Byrne didn't want to ban Glenn Watson because "he wanted it too bad" he and the guy who manages his site cooked up the idea to put Glenn on everyone's ignore list since using Byrne's own words in context against him is a no-no over there.

People there weren't "crying" over free speech. They were pissed that someone messed with their settings without their consent. Dave Pruitt got the blame for what happened by that fat fuck Matt Hawes because Hawes didn't want to believe Byrne would do something so scummy and he didn't like Pruitt anyway. And Byrne being the classy guy we all know so well, came up with some lame excuse a few days after everyone was going berserk and pointing the finger at the wrong person. He called it a "glitch" and had no problem leaving Pruitt out there to take the blame.

Byrne now claims he owns Rog 2000.

I believe the oversized edition Pacific published reprinting the E-Man ROG-2000 backups said in the indicia that the character was copyright Byrne and the reprinted material was copyright Charlton. I'd have to dig it out again to be sure.
