I'm not a fan of X-Men, and when I've looked at his X-Men work, I see a lot of the flaws that people complain about today. My favorite Byyrne art is his FF art. It just clicked for me. That, and his Superman work. Blood of the Demon ranks up there for me too. The art was amazing imo, and lightyears ahead of what most others are drawing today.

Byrne's run on FF brought us Sue Richards with a mullet.

Um ... seemed like a good idea at the time?

I've said it before, but having recently read most of Byrne's FANTASTIC FOUR run, I think the first half was really nicely drawn, with the quality starting to decline during the second half.

If I had to guess, I'd say Byrne was overextending himself toward the end, writing and drawing FANTASTIC FOUR and ALPHA FLIGHT and writing THE THING and doing whatever else.

I forget, didn't she get the mullet for the bondage outfit?

I thought the mullet was the result of a contest where readers suggested new hairstyles for Sue? Or was that a different one?
