"I said I'd list the first three folks who named the guy but we had a lot of folks who did send in the right answer also sent in from one to twelve other guesses."

So you're like a monkey with a handful of darts and you got lucky. Congrats, blind man.

Nope. There are very specific features identifying the artist as Toth. Can you name them?

Okay, seriously: Is 'naming Toth's features' really a point of pride with you? You're not exactly Paul Karasik.

And why do you spend most of your time here harassing/stalking professionals?

Of course I can, but it won't be half as hilarious as anything AM will likely claim.

Having a discerning artistic eye is, yes.

Allen, good job picking out Alex Toth as the artist of that C.B. Bears coloring book! I can see some of the telltale signs now, but when Evanier first proposed that guessing game, I was thinking Dan Spiegle or Pat Boyette. So I was way off. Good eye! And nice for you to be in a select group that includes Kevin Nowlan!

But nevertheless, you don't get a free pass on all future artistic-eye questions, sorry. Nobody gets that, no matter how good they are. We still have to argue out the tough calls, just like always.

The little hash marks (like he uses in his signature) were the dead giveaway, but also the way some of the lines don't quite connect. Most people drawing that type of cartoon style, and especially for a coloring book, would make sure the contours all closed.
