Erik Larsen is one of the LAST individuals you EVER want to go to for an unbiased opinion of JB.
Whoever said it, the quote can be considered on its own merit. As I said, I've always dismissed it but Byrne has really done his best to live up to it.
Only in the fogged eyes of a few fools.
That's classic Byrne avoidance. Dismiss the criticism. Never ask yourself the tough questions. Where does this perception come from? Is there anything to it? Nah! It's always the other guy!
Nothing wrong with CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. It's the criticism presented with maliciousness & ignorance that I don't condone.
And absolutely nothing wrong with name-dropping. Shows that JB does his research.
That research is probably being done in the waiting room of a dentist's office.
Therein lies YOUR problem (as with many a detractor) with conclusion jumping & then believing said conclusions against all sense & logic.
I'm drawing a conclusion based on the impression Byrne is leaving me with. Maybe he is a raging genius but he sure isn't coming off that way. His tactics all scream "POSER!"
This can be said of anyone posting on the Internet, especially those that hide behind screen names. I suggest you not try to paint with such a broad brush.
In any case, JB certainly does not try to present himself as any sort of genius (not seriously). I don't know where this conclusion comes from. As I said before, he does his research. Yes, he drops names all the time, but this is not a bad thing.
Not surprising that you edit something that was indicated as summed up & only show the part that helps your agenda.
It was an empty suit of an argument... the sort of thing that Intro To Philosophy 101 students would find cliched. If there was a line that would've made me say, "Oh wow! John Byrne is right! There is no God!" I must've missed it.
Very close-minded of you...as expected.
