I had to google that as it meant nothing to me. Try www.super-sluts.com.

A few thoughts: * Poor Ned Beatty, he always gets it in the end. * "Super-Sluts" was gross. * As someone who has all but 12 JLA stories from 1960 through 2009, after reading Lawson's description of the latest JL:Arsenal issue I'm glad I quit buying it last year.

As someone who has all but 12 JLA stories from 1960 through 2009, after reading Lawson's description of the latest JL:Arsenal issue I'm glad I quit buying it last year. Brian Hibbs calls it "The worst comic I have ever read!" And that may be one of the nicer reviews. Hibbs concludes with: Is this what we’ve come to? This was billed by DC as one of their “big” stories of the year. And we wonder why people aren’t buying comics like they used to?
I really wonder if we had time machines, what might happen if we traveled back to 1979, or 1969 and showed DC people this comic. What might they think about the corruption of our culture, of the degradation that we’ve devolved into?
This comic was gross. Everyone involved in its production, especially the editor, Brian Cunningham, and publishers Dan Didio and Jim Lee should be deeply ashamed of what they’ve done here. It actually has me sitting here, stunned, thinking “Wait, why am I in this business again?”
Shame on you, shame on all of you.On the comics blogosphere, this issue is now considered the lowest point of the truly godawful Dan DiDio DC Regime. So far.

Be sure and take along some newspaper articles about an all-volunteer military comprised of mostly poor people, paperless voting machines and gay marriage.

Pretty sure if you went back to around 1969, they'd be kinda psyched by the idea of an all-volunteer military. Particularly if you went to, say, Ohio in 1970. Can't say they'd be thrilled about the "mostly poor people" thing, but probably not too surprised either. Either way, "what would previous generations have thought of this?" always seems like kind of a silly way to frame an argument to me. I like Zach Weiner's answer, myself.

Can't say they'd be thrilled about the "mostly poor people" thing, but probably not too surprised either. No, I don't think that many rich boys got sent to Vietnam in 1969, even when we had a draft. All sorts of deferments existed to keep them out of harm's way. And in some cases, like George W. Bush, they just used their father's connections to snag a no-show spot in a stateside Guard or Reserve unit that was in no danger of seeing action. The rich men start the wars and profit from the wars, and they keep their boys out of it, while the working folks who fight the wars seem strangely obedient and do whatever their leaders tell them to do, that's a good dog, Shep, scratch your ears. Always has been, always will be.

I'm out here in chicago for work and walked into Comix Revolution right up the street from the Hilton they have me at. first time I've been in a comic store in years. Didn't buy anything but the staff seemed nice. Now I'm at Pete millers steak house and just ordered pete's signature steak (medimum). I've alwAys wondered what a 50dollar steAk tastes like and I'm about to find out. WhAt does this have to do with JB? Nothing other thAn the fact that I will probably crap a better piece of art in about 12 hours than he's produced in years.

How is gay marriage ruining your life, Allen? Where did I say it was ruining my life? You don't even have a heterosexual marriage. If you think it's okay to redefine what a marriage even is, tell me the point of having one.
