What the heck is "thigh" on money? laugh

Anyway, watch the monkeys dance as they find ways to make even this kind gesture into something negative.

Now THAT is pathetic.

It's funny you say that because I was just chuckling to myself that it's friday night prime time and here we are--the fanboy/geek/dork fucks like us spending our time on a comic book forum. At least you can't catch a disease from it i suppose. Anyone else going to bed in another 10 minutes?

A recent thread over at the JBF on Harlan Ellison made me realize that Ellison is the type of guy, Byrne always wanted to be... a loud-mouthed crank who says outrageous things and gets indignant about every little thing but he remains at the top of his game and he's still respected and loved by all of his peers and fans. Unfortunately for Byrne, he never had the charm and was too mean-spirited to really pull this off. Add in his diminished abilities and you not only have a guy people WANT to forget but that they've probably already forgotten.

I really think the first line should say according to paul (not byrne)

Oh and paul, whilst byrne has not said those exact words his various comments (and yours) over the last couple of years show that he (and you) believe that byren can do as he pleases and others have to take the high road and forgive him.

Sorry but the world does not work that way.

Byrne has made his bed he must lie in it.

Blaming TPTB at dc and marvel for him not having work is pathetic.

His current situation is because he has shown himself to be disrespectful and unprofessional.

That is why he does not get work at the big two

JB was offered work at Marvel prior to the cancellation of X-Men: Hidden Years, but it was his choice to sever ties with them & while he certainly would not be welcome back by the current regime (you know, the ones who are currently running what's left of Marvel?) it would not be an impossibility for a future regime to offer him work, especially if a new regime steps in who believes that Marvel was handled badly by the former regime.
Yes, at Marvel, JB made his bed & chooses to lie in it & he seems quite comfortable about it, too.

As far as DC goes, many have speculated as to why JB no longer works for DC, but no one in the KNOW has come forth with any reliable information.
With his bad-mouthing DC, though? The same goes for any future regime to step in & realize that JB was actually right about the way things have gone south & will hire him again.

You dweebs can stare at half-empty glasses all you like & actually HOPE that JB never works for the Big 2 again. Me, I'll continue to be more positive & see the glass is half full of possibilities that JB will return to tell more fun stories with the characters that REAL fans have grown to enjoy. [/quote]

So by your logic if i do not like byrnes current stories I am not a real fan?

(before you answer I have pretty much every comic byrne has ever done)

I don't know why Marvel ...Sorry. "M*****"... and DC don't want to work with Byrne. Look at how glowingly this very professional professional speaks of them on a public forum for all the World to read! From THIS thread:

"Idiots."

"These clowns cannot think in terms of anything but stunts. Marvel, DC, it's all the same. Even when they try to do something RIGHT, they break it immediately by doing it as a STUNT."

JB has no desire to work for THEM in their current states of idiocy. Good for him. He made the right decision to steer clear.

And yet he is content to make money from their characters.

Trust me if he was offered work he would take it (at least from DC).

He (and you) have to realise that while he was once the fans choice (especially during MOS)he no longer is.

Tastes change, the big boys in the business now are Johns/Bendis/Morrison/ & Brubaker/quitely/Hitch etc

Thats not a dig a byrne its just a statement of fact

Tastes haven't changed; only Byrne's abilities have.

Do any of his current stories involve the BIG 2 characters?

(Before you answer, keep in mind that the point of the discussion was JB returning to Marvel and/or DC)

What makes you think JB hasn't recently been offered work by either Marvel or DC?

(Before you answer, keep in mind that not everyone takes criticism of how a business is run on a personal level.)

Indeed. Back when fans numbered in the hundred thousands. These days? Most are not REAL fans of comic books...at least not what comic books use to be.

(Before you respond, keep in mind that I'm talking about fans that actually purchase current super-hero comics & actually enjoy them).

I wouldn't necessarily call it a dig, either, but comparatively speaking (as I imply above) most of the fans these days are an entirely different animal...so to speak...and that's NOT a positive thing.

LOL! Necro, you make some foolish statements sometimes, but this one definitely falls into your Top 100.
