That guy is a fucking lunatic. Curious how ANYONE can deny it after postings like that.

And, if my English is not well enough for Paul:
Der Typ ist ein verdammter Irrer. Ich frage mich wie IRGENDJEMAND das nach diesem Posting noch abstreiten kann.

What the heck is "thigh" on money? laugh

Hoppla.

I'm not aggreeing at all with Brevoort who is attempting to justify the comic industry's self-destructive policies while shrugging his shoulders at the same time, but we do see that Byrne can't simply waltz back over to Marvel anytime he wants.

The ego quip seems to have gotten to Byrne who on page 2 of the thread tries to demonstrate that it's not his ego that's the problem, however he demonstrates quite clearly that it's all about his ego - heaven forfend that a comic book company would expect the mighty JB to pitch for work.

Maybe it is all about ego and stuff, I am not disagreeing, but, part of the pitch at a company is about seeing that the talents can bring off the pitch successfully. Byrne is not in question about doing good work. So maybe needing to pitch is an issue, but not about Byrne's work, not about the publisher, but about so many fewer paying publishers and so many fewer places to create the works he wants to. Thereby, it is a shout towards the heavens that it all sucks as much as any direct attack.

When I pitch and I have, people have no idea if the ideas and story I've created will work. With Byrne they will know well before hand.

Byrne has painted himself into a corner regarding Marvel and doing any work for them. For him to approach them about doing some work, would be very difficult for him and his ego. It's much easier to say they should ask him as that means he doesn't have to face up to the fact that he may have been a bit rash all those years ago in storming off in a huff.

Pair Byrne up with a decent writer, give him a nice crisp inker, and I'd think you'd still get some good stuff out of him.

Interesting that he paid $2 million for it in 2005 and it's only tax-valued at $1 million now.

Byrne explains why people wear hoodies:

"There are basically two reasons to wear a hoodie:

To keep your head warm.

or

To make a "fashion statement".

The former is not an issue for Superman. What about the latter?"

Not a fan of "hoodies" in particular or Superman: Earth One but according to this logic why does Superman wear clothes at all?

I find a collection of cubes that are completely white inside and out to very much suit Byrne's personality.
