when a professor in my grad program was found guilty of bullying me and some other students, I was asked if I was hurt by his words and grades. Since I passed, and the matter was over, I didn't care. I said, if you are butt banged, what does it matter the size of the dick.

Being honest is more important than how you say it. People are way too sensitive.

Personaly, I think byrne has a right to behave how he wants, and to speak to people in whatever way he choses.

But, he then should not be asking why people like George Perez more than they like him (see the I Vampire thread)

He can not have it both ways.

Although he could always try to be more tactful when he speaks the truth

I doubt that. He don't mind if people think he's a dick or think he's not the nicest guy in comics. But he sure cares a lot about coming of as smart guy and a know-it-all to comics and history.

While I have no idea what JB's IQ may be (nor do I care), his knowledge regarding comic books & it's history is certainly something that SHOULD be respected...at least by those that know how to show respect.

That wasn't the topic of my posting AT ALL. You said he doesn't mind what people think of him. I said he does.

But now that you bring it up: I quite like JBs anecdotes and story's. I take them with a grain of salt (like every story from "back in the day" from just one source), but it's interesting most of the time.
The problem with this is, he's running out of storys. I've heard the most of 'em already and he keeps repeating himself, mostly to make a point about whats wrong with comics today.

But that goes both ways, doesn't it?

But if you set yourself up as someone who tells it as they see it, it is a wee bit hypocritical when you overreact to any mild criticism of yourself.

The simple fact is Byrne can dish it out but he can't take it. I should know as he banned me from his forum for telling him some list he thought up was rubbish.

And anyway how you say something is just as important as what you say. Who after all is going to listen someone who is deliberately rude even though what they say may be true?

Exactly. I'd love to see what would have happened if someone was so "honest and blunt" and said "You shit all over Kirbys grave with that six-fingered Sue Storm".

That's pretty bad if Byrne's lost Jodi Moisan.

She's a giant communist and she seemed to lap up Byrne's every drop nonsense with a big ol' spoon. If even she's had enough, that's got to say something about Byrne's charm.

I suppose we can make room for one more over here on this board. I've often wondered what a Budman pony would look like.
Welcome Jodi!
