Love Bonanza. And Maverick too. I just switched my dish company and found a channel that runs a Lone Ranger and 2 Rifleman episodes every afternoon.

I recently bought the third season of Gunsmoke, which won the show an Emmy that year... 1959, I think. Good show. Has a good edge to it. Very mature compared to other Westerns of its time.

It was very mature compared to other Westerns of its time. Ever hear the radio show? It was designed to contrast the kiddie westerns. They wanted to create an adult western show in the mold of "The Adventures of Philip Marlowe"

I just remembered another good one, Kung Fu.

John Byrne: Did you ever watch Gunsmoke, and would you like to do a Western comic aimed at and marketed to the same audience that buys Western novels and paperbacks?

Unfortunately, I never got to watch Kung Fu because we didn't get ABC out in the boonies where I grew up. In fact, there was a whole era of ABC I missed out on because of this, including a great deal of the Wonder Woman series. It wasn't until the time of Happy Days that we got the station regularly.

My family was always big on Little House on the Prairie. It was pretty good until the last few seasons.

Johnny Cash was even on it once.
